Coastal Bombardment

Post by John S »

Playing the French around 1906. I have had two tactical situations now where my ships are supposed to protect convoys and coastal installations. I receive the sound of gunfire and a report of shelling at a coastal location.

How do I determine roughly where the firing is coming from?

I can't seem to find any way to locate the source. I would think that I should at least be able to know whether the firing is east or west of my location.

As for coastal installations, right-click on those flags along the shore. One (or more) may be "installations". In any case, one of those flags should be showing damage, and that is how you know what they are attacking.

For convoys, it will do to know which direction it's headed before running off in pursuit.

If defending against a coastal raid, go to the OB and look where your merchant ships are (roughly) located. That will gove you some notion of what you have to cover.
