Mexico DoW on Japan in 1945?, why is DoW as Japan on Mexico impossible? & Tannu Tuva listed in editor but isn't on map
Hi there.
What's about Mexico DoW on Japan in 1945 and why is it impossible DoW on Mexico, if playing Japan? The mexican Capital is listed in the editor, but can't be clicked on the map, because it's just outside of it.
Tannu Tuva is listed in the editor, but not existing on the map.
I'm just wondering about these two things.
Kind regards.

The game's strategy guide states the following on Mexico:
Although Mexico did declare war on Japan in May 1942, this country plays no role in the war, cannot be influenced by diplomacy and nor can it be declared war upon.
Mexico's active contribution to the Pacific War was rather small. There was only the single fighter squadron (201st "Aztec Eagles") which was trained in the United States and saw combat in the Philippines.
As for Tannu Tuva they may have slotted it in the editor for a future expansion or patch. Or maybe decided against its inclusion and just left it there.

Tannu Tuva is an oversight, it will be in the game in the next patch, good spot!
As to Mexico, it could be activated, though it wouldn't really play any role, so I will think further on it.

Mexico (and Latin America) were important economically. They provided oil, mineral and agricultural goods and the rubber from plantations in Brazil and Central America helped make up the shortfall from the loss of the East Indies. A overland convoy from Mexico and points south into the US seems doable but obviously it would make the USA into even more of an MPP powerhouse.
Just out of curiosity in this game what has become of the southern California oilfields that were present in World at War?

We could just decrease US base income to compensate, but effectively I don't think it will make a significant difference in game, so I'll have to see according to time available.Platoonist wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 2:04 pm Mexico (and Latin America) were important economically. Yeah, on reflection it probably would be superfluous to include such an MPP route since Japan's chances to interfere with or shut it down would seem to be rather remote.BillRunacre wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 3:41 pm We could just decrease US base income to compensate, but effectively I don't think it will make a significant difference in game, so I'll have to see according to time

Hi Bill.
Thank you for your answer. Is it possible activating Mexico in the Editor?
Kind regards.

Hello Platoonist.
I really appreciate, that you know history as well.
I'm also very interested in history, specially of the late 19th and early to mid 20th century.
About the involvement "only" by the fighter squadron 201, the Aztec Eagles, I also know.
So maybe Hubert and Bill can set, that only one garrison and one fighter plane unit can be deployed.
Kind regards.

In the case of Mexico
in the editor I've changed the capital, so that it's seen on the map now, but I couldn't set it for diplomacy. The only way for players, activating it, is from the very beginning of the game setting it on 90 % or more.
Kind regards.
Kind regards.

If you explain how you want Mexico to be, then we can talk you through what you need to do.

Hi Bill.
Thank you very much for your offer, helping me, modding Mexico
. It should enter the war on its historical date, only with a garrison at its capital, which has to be another one, because the current one is barely out of the map. The change of the capital I could do myself already.
Also at the historical date, one fighter plane unit with the name 201st should be formed.
Kind regards.

The best thing to do is to have a Mobilization_3 script for Mexico to enter (you can use those already in the game as a model) and just add a Garrison on the map. It cannot be moved until Mexico enters the war, so it is fine to place it at the capital.

You may want to make a list of your changes so that when we release a patch you can easily modify the updated official campaign according to your tastes.
