Newbie question about Malta

Newbie question about Malta

Post by jonpfl »

All,

Just picked up this game this week and I saw somewhere it mentioned I should take Malta as the Axis.

1) It makes sense to me but how do you go about doing that? I keep running my destroyers and subs around there and there are a bunch of British ships ready to crush me.

2) I keep seeing something saying "interdiction of supplies" to cities in N Africa. I assume that means I am not getting full supplies to my units fighting there, is there any place in the game I can see that (ie a report, hover over, etc)?

What seems like a simple game of units on hexes is actually quite deep!!

Thx

The key to reducing Malta isn't just seapower. It's mostly air power. Basically, massing all the German and Italian tactical and medium bombers you can on the island of Sicily with a good HQ commanding them to slowly knock the place down over two or three turns. Just the threat of all those massed planes will likely keep the Royal Navy at bay. It's best to undertake this operation after the fall of France to free up the Luftwaffe bomber fleet to participate.

Here's a very good thread on the subject.

The Malta interdiction event means you're not getting your regular supply numbers in Axis North African ports for that turn only which reduces supply distribution.
