I am trying to retake Rangoon . I have massed troops at Bassein. I am trying to get more supplies to the area . I am building up supply at Akyab. The roads are open and controlled. Will the supply flow to Bassein and how long does it take. what can I do to speed it up.
Thanks

Center the map at Akyab. Then hit the "5" key and see how good the supply flows. Also check to see if there is a supply cap for incoming supply to Bassein. You can also increase the supply demand at Bassein but if the supply can't get there, it won't come. You can increase the supply cap by building more infrastructure at the base.

There are three options you can try outside of air cargo transport.

(a) allow the built in demand/supply system to do its job, meaning putting units there and let the increased demand pull supplies overland from India. Having an engineer unit build up the airfield will help increase demand.

(b) set it to stockpile, and dial up its demand number (see switches in the left side of base screen)

(c) ignore stockpiling, but set its supply pull to above 7,000. That should keep you at over 21000k supplies... if it is available and if it can move over the terrain.

Assuming it works none of this is gonna happen in a big hurry. The India-Burma border is a poor supply conduit.

Thanks Guys
I figured it was slow due to the lack of rail lines in the area

Take Ramree Island an build it up, also take Prome to avoid the river crossing when assaulting Rangoon.

Yeah, that's by far the most reliable way to get enough supplies in the area for the Allies. Stuff Ramree full andkeep pushing. Some of it will overflow further into the jungle

Build up the bases from Chittagong to Bassein. Along the coast you can develop both ports and airfields in a single base, which is great.

Don't forget about monsoon, which reduces supply movement.

I've found Ramree to be a fairly good conduit for supplies. Supply convoys from Diamond Harbor to there are a good use of LSTs, xAKLs and smaller xAKs.

The catch is that between India and Burma, the mountain essentially form a continental divide there. Depending upon exactly what scenario you are playing, you will see that there is a block in the pwhexe file running south from Ledo along the mountains. This severely limits the supply movement between the 2 areas.

As mentioned above, use the 5 key and examine the supply carefully. don't assume it's moving, verify it with the 5 key.

And the F6 key to show "Hexside Details". A red line on the hex side means it is impassable. Dark blue is water passable by boat. Blue-purple is fordable. White is passable by land or boat. Green is land only passage.

Being somewhat color-blind, I can't see that blasted red line. I have to open up the frigging pwhexe file to confirm it. BUT, the "5" key will show that supply isn't moving across which for me is the quickest way.

Just saying, as about 20% of the male population suffers along with me, and can't see that red line either.
So, remember the 5 key!
