Posledniy Otschot, 1944

I haven't been very fond of this scenario but I recently decided to check it out after hearing that it got updated. The SITREP is that a Soviet Task Force centered around the Aviation Cruiser Volgograd has somehow ended up in the Barents Sea smack dab in the middle of June, 1944. The commanding personnel quickly decided that our key priority was survival and with German aircraft swarming the area looking for Allied convoys and no orders coming in from high command, the best way to achieve that became rather obvious:

I quickly set a course for Archangelsk to clear the area and set all of my Forgers to have Quick Turnarounds enabled. I originally planned to have my radars turned on in order to track any possible problems but one of my junior officers rushed in with records that the Germans had access to B-17s with Radar Warning Receivers so I immediately cut radar usage to just the Admiral Apraksin's Top Sail radar. Pretty soon, I started seeing one of the B-17s in question getting awfully close to my Task Force so I started sending up Forgers to get in close under the radar, pop up and take pot shots with their Atoll missiles, and then head back to the Volgograd at top speed and minimum altitude. This worked pretty well in terms of preventing the Germans from spotting my Task Force and I imagine it also confused them rather thoroughly. After managing to get clear of the combat zone and seeing that no more B-17s were being sent up, I decided to hand off operations to my junior staff and retire to my quarters given that we were no longer in danger.
