The endless war

Post by Stego »

I have been at war with Russia for 49 months. I have 14226 VP to the enemy's 2896.

And there is no way he will ask me for peace and end the war once and for all.

Do I have to conquer Moscow?

Those point totals seem low to me given the length of the war.

If you are not putting enough pressure on their navy they will not be pressued at home. The people must feel the pinch. That is how you win.

Crush their navy and blocade them or raid them until the people revolt.

Those scores are pretty typical where the Russian cowards are concerned. They'll avoid action at every opportunity.

Additionally, if there's no shared Home sea zone, conflict is restricted. Italy, Austro-Hungary and the USA all share these limitations where Russia is concerned.

Another point to consider is colonies - nations are more likely to deploy shipping to protect colonies which is another reason not to capture those locations.

Yes, the problem is that there are no major battles. Nor am I within range to be able to make a landing in enemy territory.

Which nation are you playing as?

I'm playing as Germany and usually deal with Russia by keeping my main force in Northern Europe, so blockading the way in and out of The Baltic, and being nice to the Japanese so that they can blockade North East Asia.

You need to be in the Baltic.

I'm playing USA.

They have finally signed peace after 63 months of war. Sakhalin has been ceded to me.

It seemed to me a long time for a war with little contact.
