UK Mystery Forces

Post by MattFL »

So, the same turn that i accepted the surrender of France, i also invaded the UK. However, i am told by my opponent that doing so caused him to get all kinds of reinforcements. I have played him opposite and he invaded the UK (After the surrender) and i got jack shit. I am assuming this is because he needed to play his turn so that the French Surrender was actually 100% complete and thus if you invade the UK before BEFORE the French surrender is complete, the UK gets all of these reups include a FRENCH corps of all things. I guess my issue is that the manual is 100% silent on this, unless I'm missing it. Why would this not be covered in the manual???

It has essentially been a punishing blow to the Germans for the UK to get big reinforcements for being invaded, something i'd not seen before.

Can someone confirm and/or explain this to me? I essentially took the deal but invaded the UK that same turn. So fucked up.

Random French naval units appear to be joining the UK...

I got the sub which is really odd, but honestly it is kind of interesting.
Does not bother me much but if they were receiving half the navy that could be an issue.

This had nothing to do with an invasion. My opponent got nothing for his UK army.

He did state another opponent received a battleship.

But what does this have to do with the UK getting all of these infantry corps after being invaded?

The Avengers?

The good ones, John Steed and Emma Peel. Not the puppets in tights.

You said they got reinforcements...I did not notice they got corps.

What corps did they get? There is rarely anything in the French build queue. What is a "reup"?

I never invade the UK so I would not know...will have to test it.

I forgot...did he have units in France when they surrendered? If so those units will get put in the queue if they are in Vichey...since they can't get out. I wonder if those are what he is seeing.

They get home guard corps if you invade. If I remember.

The USA gets the national guard if you invade the USA.

The Russians get their released reserves

The Italians get their hands up in the air

The Germans.... well they just get what they deserve.

Thanks for clarifying. Is this mentioned in the manual at all? And is it effected by whether the invasion happens before or after France surrenders?

I don't see any Homeguard in the event file.
Never seen that before and I have been invaded a few times.

That was why I asked how many units were in France when they surrendered?
If they had units in Vichy they would get put into the queue.

The UK didn't have any troops in Vichy. I think they had units in Cherbourg and Brest maybe, just to keep the ports when it flips German. Just seems like he's got a ton of shit in the UK. But then, the Brits didn't really fight in France at all...
