Editor Does Not Offer Scenarios

Post by Wannabe »

Where are the files/ scenarios I would like to edit when I open Scenario Editor? When I click on it, it takes me to one of my DOCUMENT folders that has a single scenario I offered to assist playtesting years ago. The folder matches whatever theater (for example, WWII WEST FRONT) I had last opened in the game. Most of them are empty, other than the one I downloaded back when. I would expect it to have all the scenarios I can currently open as NEW, correct?

I have been away for quite some time, and I know I had a similar issue back then, but I don't remember how I got around it. I would expect it to offer all of the scenarios currently in the game, but it does not.

Any and all is appreciated.

It depends upon whether you got the game from Matrix or Steam. But also on if you mucked about with the default options on the install.

The attached shots show the standard Matrix and Steam install paths. But, if you opted for a custom installation location, it could be anywhere. In that case, search your system for *.sce files and note where they concentrate.

Thanks, Curtis,

I did no mucking, because I am not a competent mucker, and correspondingly poor at unmucking.

I got it from Matrix, and what I see matches your MATRIX folders. However, when I go to open those folders... nothing other than the single game I downloaded when I offered someone to playtest their scenario.

When I open the game and start a new one, I get the scenarios. It is only when I try to EDIT that I have this issue. Any ideas?

When you try to open a scenario in the Editor, do you see this dialog and these folders:

Thanks, all.

I tried searching and found it on my D: drive, which is NOT where my two other Matrix titles are stored, and in a subfolder called SCENARIOS, which was NOT in any PROGRAM FILES or MATRIX GAMES or even GAMES folder. Seriously, I am not a mucker, so I have no idea how that came about. Now to see if I can actually find it when I open the Editor!
