Shadow of the Tsars Mirror Match

Post by OldCrowBalthazor »

Hello everybody. Well StrategyWolfGames and I will be producing a mirror match of Strategic Command 'Shadow of the Tsars', with me playing the revolutionary Reds and Wolf playing the reactionary Whites.
Stay tuned I will post a schedule and a short announcement vid when we get enough content to put up on YT.
Should be epic!
Lenin has such a sweet smile, now doesn't he? 😁

I said that I'd post this as a reply here as well so that others can see, directly copied from my comment on your YouTube channel.

Oh I can't wait to see this OCB.
I remembered how badly you were out-numbered by Duedman (amongst a large number of other issues) and how well you performed against SWG the first time around in turn, and in relation to the post that I did on the forum a while ago on how the Whites are so much stronger in-game than they were IRL, I decided to count up all of the units for each of the White factions and sub-factions.
Bear in mind now, these figures do not include Finland, the Karelians, the Antonovists, the Astrakhan Cossacks, the Orenburg Cossacks, the British, the French, the Americans, the Germans, or any partisan units that may a-rise from the result of Bolshevik occupation.

In total, the anti-Bolshevik White forces can mobilise (including their starting units, and giving a few units resulting from spawns not included in the production queue):
HQs - 28
Infantry Divisions - 76
Infantry Brigades - 2 (starting Freikorps units, ir-replace-able)
Infantry Corps - 35
Cavalry Divisions - 34
Naval Infantry - 3
Militia - 3
Partisans - 1 (starting Estonian unit, ir-replace-able)
Artillery - 9
Anti-Air - 5
Armoured Cars - 7
Armoured Trains - 12
Tank Corps - 3 (at least)
Fighters - 5
Airships - 2
Recon Bombers - 6
Submarines - 2
Destroyers - 5
Light Cruisers - 3
Pre-Dreadnoughts - 1
All of this, with-out even counting revolting factions, persuade-able factions or liberate-able factions, means that the Bolsheviks are out-numbered by multiples in some of the most important categories, namely the standard units such as infantry and cavalry divisions, as well as infantry corps. You're going to have one hell of a battle a-head of you Commander OCB!

My reply is that though the above post looks intimidating, we won't be deterred -Commissar Balthazor. :D

Btw thanks for the data. Hence why we are doing a mirror match to see what we can do with the Reds against all these multiple packs of reactionary running dogs.........

Hi. Well I got good news. Our Shadow of the Tsar (Russian Civil War) Multiplayer series as the Bolsheviks vs StrategyWolfGames White factions begins on June 3, 2025 with Episode 1 airing 9am Pacific Time Zone.
My episodes will air every other day. StrategyWolfGames White Faction first episode airs June 4. A link to his channel will be in my episodes descriptions so folks can follow both sides. So basically we have a 'staggered' schedule.
Our lead time will be short between us playing and recording a turn and when they air....as we just started a few days ago. This is a barnstormer of a match from right off the bat so should be quite exciting!
