Raiders disrupt shipping near...

Playing the main Pacific campaign: What do surface raiders achieve when ending turn on the marked hexes near Australian and NZ ports? Does it have any tangible impact or is it better to focus on raiding convoy routes?

Both methods will inflict economic losses, and the red hatching ones are certainly bolder moves to make as they require placing units very close to enemy territory.

However, if you have naval and aerial supremacy you may as well do both, because the impact on the targeted country(ies) will therefore be greater.

Or you can choose your target to set a trap for the enemy.
