The Lesser of Two Evils: Command Structure

Post by Q-Ball »

Comrades!

I am in late 1941, and the glorious Red Army of Workers and Peasants is large. Large enough that we don't quite have enough FRONTS to keep everyone under Command Capacity at all times. There are plenty of Army HQ, so that's not a problem. I know this can also happen for the Axis, so also applies. In that instance, what is preferable, generally?

Option A: Keep the Stavka-Front-Army structure, knowing a couple FRONTS might be overloaded?

or

Option B: Having some Armies report to STAVKA directly, keeping everyone under command capacity

As a corollary, the Soviets have North Caucausus Front, but that is outside of command range for anything useful; should that still be a consideration?

This can also apply for Axis, where IIRC some of the Army Groups can get overloaded at times, and/or Armies

Thoughts?

Not sure how late is late. The Volkhov Front arrives in December I believe and the Caucasus Front the last turn of December. If you are still over capacity with that, having army/armies under Stakva would be the preferred solution.

Thanks Comrade M60! I think you answered my question: Better to attach to STAVKA, than to an overloaded FRONT

Wiedrock is a German national and resident, I believe. I think he has a command calculator XLS, but I have not used it.

Yes, I have often wondered where to put commands when CP points have run out. I though Fronts or Attack commands didn't degrade gracefully. That a change was made such that it is all or nothing (for bonus) if you break the limit.
