[1.27a] 'Crime Raid' skill use unclear or unassigned

Post by Don_Kiyote »

The 'Crime Raid' stratagem is used by the Interior Council to winnow the number of Syndicate crews in a zone.

But which Skill does it roll against?

The card says 'Streetwise', but the decision log says the Director made an 'Operational Command' roll.

Usage pips on the character sheet say Streetwise has one (1), and OC zero (0). That may mean 'Streetwise' was used, but the director had dinner with the Capo ('Meeting' stratagem) last turn, and a few times before that, so I would expect Streetwise usage to show at least 1 pip by now, regardless. It looks to me that neither skill logged the usage points. However, the character did gain XP.

Of course, if the skill doesn't register usage points, then the character will never develop it, even if he gains the XP.

I'm kinda trying really hard with these guys because they're the toughest faction to manage, but I enjoy their story, as far as I can tell there is one, and their benefits seem unique. So, that means focusing on the relevant IC character skills, which I thought meant only one, 'Streetwise'.

My player preference would be for this particular stratagem, 'Crime Raid' would to roll against OC, actually, rather than Streetwise, because its cooler, more fitting to the event, and also characters who depend on a variety of skill groups are more interesting to fit to their roles. But I need to know the details to make that work.

Perhaps The Shadow knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men, but what lurks in Lamont Cranston's heart?

Bonus mini-bug report: OHQ Command Unit troops don't seem to be benefitting from the posture 'Field Training' skill growth bonus, maybe, looks like.

Okay I looked closer and the mouse-over detail says the roll was against 'Streetwise', in which case its only the text of the pop-up which is wrong.

Still, my guy has a pretty good Personal Combat score as well...
