Opponent wanted

Post by Elefantinho »

Since I have not had the pleasure of being on the receiving end of the 3.3 blizzard fury I'm looking for an opponent who wishes to play the campaign 1941 in version 3.3 as Soviets.

I'll be able to play 3 or 4 turns a week. Very important is that I'd like to play against someone who is determined to continue the game after 1941, although in the (unlikely) case of the loss of both Moscow and Leningrad I'd be willing to accept a surrender. From my side I'll be fighting on until Berlin is taken.

For house rules I suggest Lorenzo's ones with the following additions/modifications:
- Maximum 1/3 of the tank factories can produce heavy tanks.
- Producing inferior equipment, e.g. switching a factory to T-26 (with delay 4), to have the computer upgrade it to T-34 (with delay 1) is allowed.
- The Soviet HQs within three hexes of the map border cannot contain any air groups that are not on training. So conducting an attack from another HQ and in the same turn transfering the units to the back is a no-no.
- RVGK cannot occupy any city hex.
- The Finnish restrictions apply, but after the fall of Leningrad the Finns can be used freely on or above lattitude 14 (the Demyansk-Kalinin line).

Leave me a personal message when you are interested.

Why not converting straight to t34? What's the point? :)

Suppose I have a factory which I'd like to produce T-34s. If I change it to T-34s the factory will need 4 turns to convert. If I change it to T-26, and computer factory upgrade is enabled, next turn the computer will upgrade my T-26 choice to T-34 and reduce the number of weeks of delay from 4 to 1. So I'll have the same factory earlier than if I'd upgraded it immediately to T-34. For the Germans you could use this to switch tank production to Pz-IIIh (you upgrade your factories to IIIg), for the Soviets to produce Yak-1s (you switch to I-16). Some players think this is allowed, others don't, so I just wanted to set expectations right that I'd have no problem with it.

Oh, haven't noticed. I though that would take five weeks in total :) But not really looking for game either so good luck when you get one.
