Major and Minor Rivers-Combat?

Post by Titanwarrior89 »

Is there any difference between-Large(Major) and Small(Minor) rivers, in ground combat for defensive/offensive beneifits? Can't find in manual, says something about disruption.[:D]

Well seeing as how fighting only occurs IN the same hex and rivers are hex side features, I would be lead to believe nothing is factored in for rivers in combat.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

Actually, it sounds TOTALLY WRONG... So in this combat system you might be right.
In reality an opposed river crossing is one of the tougher military endevours..., so I
would hope for at least serious disruption and fatigue to the side making the crossing.

I tried to make a defensive stand behind the river that runs in front of Mandalay, and the Japanese went right through it with no noticeable effect...maybe the pursuit rule?[:@]
I have not yet begun to fight!

I was hoping that there would be some type of beneifit to defending behind rivers-even though combat is in the same hex. [:D] But if there is only a Disruption effect- is there a difference in the amount of disruption when comparing large and small rivers?[:D]

scope of game, kind of a strange one sionce we see three "pulses per 24 hours, to not have rivers... too much .. you can build fortifications, maybe a hex near a river could get a bonus, maybe it does and we do not know it CODE?
"Tanks forward"
