Application Exception

Post by A_Turtle »

Hi, got the game via download, which went fine.

When I hit play I get the following:

TSATG.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception it could not handle

Process id = 0x2d4 (724) THread id = 0x2dc (732)

Click OK to terminate aplication, click cancel to debug the application

Any suggestions on things I can check/do? Thanks.

Hi A_Turtle,

It does looke like DirectX9 was not installed. I believe the installer installs an update to DirectX 9 which is refered to as Managed DirectX. You can get DX9 through Windows Update. The latest version is 9.0c. Here's what you should do:

- Use Windows Update to get DX 9.0c
- open it through Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Windows Update
- Try the game to see if it now works, if not:
- Re-install TS-ATG (just to get the Managed DirectX component into DX9)

Note: DirectX9.0c automatically installs with Windows XP service pack 2.
