Sweet! The Civil war game using the world at war engine sounds great.

Too bad about the Med game.[:(]

Eastern front game ought to kick ass though.[:)]

Since the WaW engine appears to be open to flexible game design, how about a WWIII game pitting NATO vs Warsaw Pact set in the 70s or 80s?

Don't worry cheesehead, SC2 is on the way, with a way flexible editor, possibly on the order of TOAW.

Cheesehead, I've got you covered. Picture GDW's 1984 boardgame "Third World War" updated with accurate 1989 OOBs and adapted to Schwerpunkt's upcoming Anglo-German War. Division-size units with regimental breakdowns, 1-week turns, 7.5-mile hexes ... Sweet! I plan to release a scenario mod shortly after AGW gets released. [;)]

As for 2by3Games, that was an interesting update. Not only am I lacking a decent global WWII grand strategy game, I don't have a decent Civil War grand strategy game either. Looks like both shortcomings will be corrected next year! And the Eastern Front will be great also, particulary if Grigsby implements his War in Russia strategic aspects into the game. Russo-German War is fine as an operational game; 2by3 should focus on the strategic campaign. [8D]

Good to hear! I'll watch for it...

Just because WWIII never happened (Thank God) doesn't mean it wouldn't make an awesome wargame. If Hitler had gotten into art school and WWII never happened, us wargamers would have had to invent that, too. [:)]

If the Eastern Front game will be using the GGWaW engine, will it also be using provinces rather than hexes?

EDIT: Just reread the dev note, and noticed that they said hexes are in. GGWaW must be a very flexible engine indeed. Thumbs up.

Glad to hear the EF game will not use a WEGO system. I think that is fine for realism - but sucks for playability (apart from Combat Mission)
