Anybody know...

Post by Feinder »

the number Japanese AKs, APs, and AGs that are available on 12-07-41?

I've counted all the rest of the ship types. But it's too easy to miss a few as I scroll thru list.

Anybody know how many of each IJN
AK
AP
AG

are available at start?

Thanks,

There is a nice excel sheets of all ships with availability dates, etc.
Check Spookys page - could have saved you a lot of counting

AG: 46
AK: 477 (small 168, large 309)
AP: 424 (small 175, medium 193, large 56)

PS: My version of the list seems to be based on 1.00...

Just checked: it was posted by Rick Porter (aka Kid), 07/22/04 added to Link: Spookys page

Righto!

Like to keep track of your available shipping etc. 15% of you total DDs, 10% of your total TKs, 15% of your total subs... All confirmed sunk.

Just like keep track of these things.

You send us a turn? Another borning one...?

We figured at y'alls rate of (attempted) expansion, that we'd be seeing an invasion task force headed for Pearl Harbor by now. You won't dissappoint, will you..? Of course, I'm not sure you can sustain the losses you took capturing Rabaul...

Just taunting.

So the Japanese start with roughly 900 transports. What would be "typical" losses in the first 6 months? Opinions?

In my current PBEM effort the Japs have lost 150, so about 17%. Is that high, low or average? Is that going to start hurting as the war progresses?

Thanks for the feedback.

In my game vs. AI I am in early May '42 and lost 50+ ships. I don't have access to my game right now, but it must be ~10 subs, 1 CL, less then 5 DDs and the rest AKs, APs and several MSW, PC and PG. But I moved very slowly, just captured Palembang and Java is still untouched.
Capturing Lae (together with Rabaul) late March/early April was 'expensive', with a strong bomber force at PM...

I am playing the Allies against the AI (Very Hard) SCN 15, V1.3

As of 04-02-42 I have sunk just over 200 transports, about 30 PC/MSWs, 8 SS, but only 5 DDs. I have actually sunk more ships than I have lost but I have lost far more warships than the Japs. Fortunetly most of these are old DDs and CLs that didn't make it out of the DEI or died in valiant battles VS transport TFs.

WITPBriefing has that data. It's at Spooky's.
