Production costs

Post by dulsin2 »

Why didn't a table of production costs get printed in the manual? I am new to the game and want to get an idea of the relative cost/value/time of each unit's production.

This is what I have gleened so far from my one night of play and reading the manual.

1 Militia
2 Infantry
? Paratroopers
4 Armor
? Artillery
? Anti-Air

? Fighter
? FB
? HB
? CarrierPlane

? Transport
? Sub
4 Light Fleet
5 Heavy Fleet
6 Carrier

Dulsin;

In the production spiral screnn, each box has an image (at the bottom) of where a unit will start production if you start building it that turn. For example, militia and supply are completed the turn you start building, infantry and artillery and fighters the next turn, etc...etc... Simply look at the bottom images to see where a unit will start, that gives you the total production time at a glance. It also lets you see from a date standpoint. That way if you are planning an invasion in SP41 for example you can make sure those tanks come off the factory floor before then!

Hope that helps

That does help ... I was wondering what those units were.

I would still like a table with each units costs that I can refer to out of the game. This realy should have been in the manual.

yeah a table of not only their cost, but include their population cost, movement capability, combat power, etc. I know some of this available, but a little scattered.

A table would be nice and hopefully someone will put one together. However, be aware that the costs for units are not the same for all countries. That's one reason we did not provide a table and why we put the indicators on the production track for the standard build times/costs. I'd say 90% of the build costs are the same for all the World Powers, but there are a few key differences (see Heavy Bomber). These also can be modded by changing scenario files (by unit/by World Power).
All understanding comes after the fact.

That would also be great info to know. What countries/units have special costs?
