I killed him as well ... and his staff, and staff car, and pretty much anyone else in the area.

By an unfortunate coincidence my Oberst's staff was also wiped out in this scenario

"Capture Wavell" is a misnomer. By killing him I consider him captured. There is really no way to "capture" him.

My apologies for not being clearer on that. By killing him you get a humongous amount of points for him (1000) and similar amounts for his staff and bodyguards.

So take out the bloody general guys!

I got him before the Yugos got me. He was just standing in the middle of the road watching his swiftly moving staff car roar away and exit the map.

Whatta maroon.

i created a scenario for sp1 where you were brits and had to capture a german general from his chalet. in the mission i made the german general a brit sniper and changed some of his stats to a pistol. then i STRONGLY advised the brit player not to use the general for scouting or moving until another brit unit was in the same hex. i was worried that another german unit would run into the general and killing him before the brits got to him, but it never happened. the possiblility the general would be killed by german fire once captured, but that was acceptable. just an idea. jp

You'll find something similar in this campaign when the Japanese prisoner accompanies Colonel Goettge (he was on a leash with a rope around his neck) to talk with some Japanese that the prisoner says wants to surrender.

Now THAT makes for an interesting scenario. Historically, the prisoner and the Colonel were shot down and killed.
