New game forming

Post by ggallagher »

As we sweep away the ashes of the ill-fated first game into the dustbin of history, it is time to start a new game. Am totally open to alternatives, but will put forth the following proposal:

1792 Standard length and victory conditions
no AIs - all slots filled by humans
Commitment by all players to do 2 turns aweek (am thinking one across the weekdays, and one across the weeknd.)
I'll commit to managing the games blog. [http://cogintelli.blogspot.com/]

Let me start by laying claim to the British.

Gregg

Note: My email address is gregggallagher@msn.com; but let's keep things public on the forum here until we finalize the game

I also would like to join you. I´m open to play any country (no experience with most of them - that makes it more interesting [:)])
No problems with two turns a week, but I can only answer to everything that arrives from mon - fri between 9-18 CET.

I am not volunteering to play (got 6 PBEM ongoing..) but I would strongly reccommend that Nations are allocated to players dependent upon the order of play and timezone, ie moving west from the player who is France.

In the two "time zoned" games I am in we are nearly finished year two, of the others not one is past turn 8, and the one which began first is somewhere around turn 4. Logical allocation of nations makes a massive difference to the rate of play..

Enjoy and have fun!

OK...here's what I have so far, from both forum posting and emails:

British: Gregg (moi)
Turkey: Deerslayer
France: Gillesthib
Russia: Heriochus
Undeclared: Hurz, Guilaume

Hurz & Guilaume should advise of the specific countries they want, and we'll need 2 more folfs in addition.

So, I´ll take prussia then (but I´m still open to take any other nation)
I think it´s a good idea to check if we don´t get any long delays because of time zone problems.
I´m GMT+1 (and I´m usually only able to answer during day-time)

I'll play. Spain looks like it might be my best bet since I am GMT-5 like Deerslayer.

I'd be into playing Austria if the spot is still open. I have no problem comitting to two turns a week, but I will be on vacation from 8/27-9/3. But I am more than willing to share my password to keep the game going while I am away. I am also GMT-5.

This is the lineup so far as I can gather. No communication from Guilame recently, however.

Sweden: Guilaume ? (????)
Prussia: Hurz (GMT +1)
Austria: The Bug (GMT -5)
Russia: Heriochus
Turkey: Deerslayer (GMT -5)
Spain: Mynok (GMT -5)

Let's get going.....Gillesthib should start the game, do his first move, then send it along to me. My email is gregggallagher@msn.com

If everyone can provide me with their emails, I will send an invite to join the blog I'll manage to support the game.
