Lost in Corsica

Post by MarcelJV »

I invade Corsica as France and sieged the island into surrender. I wanted to pickup my army and move it back to the mainland or Sardinia. I moved my fleet to Corsica and suddenly they are no longer on the map to click on. I inspect Corsica and they are there in the list of units present, but since I can not give order here I can not move the fleet. I see the fleet in the military Advisor screen, but I just do not get the Icon on the main board to select and move the fleet. I have a save game if you need it, but I suspect this is a bug. I have not had this happend any where else, yet.

Use CTRL+Right Mouse Button to click on Corsica to bring up a list of all units. You can re-arrange them in the attachment box and also select the ones you need.

It is a bug that the overflow isn't displaying properly sometimes in small provinces like Corsica.

I believe this is a display issue--there isn't enough space to display the fleet separately.
One solution is to turn on compact stacks; then, you can click on the unit and cycle through the units until you reach the fleet, then order the fleet to move. (I think this will work for a fleet...write back if it doesn't.)

I normally play with compact stacks turned on but I will check tonight and validate that with you.

I made sure I was using compact stacks and I still do not see the fleet on the large map. Here is a screen shot of my inspecting units in Corsica so you can see the fleet is there. Next post is of the map without unit visible using compact stacks. I have the army in the city to free space on the map.

Yes, you may have to cycle through the stack of units--is that ship in the province? Click on it, then click on it again to see if there's anything hiding underneath it.

Alternatively (if Corsica is truly too small to display units), use the suggestion Eric made--CTRL+right-click to get an attachment box for the province, then select the unit from there.

Malta is also too tiny for my POWs. I sent them there and they ended up in the Central Mediterranean Sea starving as in a nil-forage-value area. \(^o^)/

Are you sure they weren't just starving on Malta?

Eric, check to see if there's something wrong with landing troops on Malta.

I'm certain their foraging (if any for a zone with a zero forage value) was reported (as in Events) to happen on Central Mediterranean Sea. Besides, their numerical decline was just as fast as in a sea zone without supply. I didn't ever try to transport the poor starving out of there so I can't say for sure if they were still situated in Malta, or spilt over into the sea, but they didn't seem to me to be on any parcel of land by judging in terms of casualty suffered.
