PBEM newbie (still) looking for opponent

Post by Martti »

After playing against the AI for some time I now feel confident enough to try PBEM game. I would like to play a full map scenario, but as the entire war is probably too much for a first game I propose playing either scenario 8 (first year) or 9 (turning point). I prefer playing as allied but if no japanese opponent is found I can also take over as japanese.

For settings the historical first turn is off, fog of war and weather on. Anything else can be negotiated. Some house rules regarding the first turn can be negotiated, but I prefer playing the game otherwise without any extra rules.

As a newbie PBEM player I hope to find an opponent who is also still somewhat inexperienced. I live in GMT+2, the game is version 1.602 and I believe I can do atleast an average of one turn per day.

IS2m has been forced to drop the challenge due to computer problems, so I am now looking for a new opponent.

Hello Martti

I am willing to play the Japanese against you in Scen 8. I am in GMT+6. I have v1.6, and have not figured out how to download 1.602 yet, so I guess I should learn how...

Respond if still interested, we can discuss house rules, etc...

Hi IS2m

I would be happy to play against you. For settings I propose the following:

allied sub OFF
japanese sub as you wish
fog of war ON
weather ON
allied damage control ON
historical first turn OFF
player def. upgrades OFF
vary setup ON
december 7th suprise ON
15 day variable reinforcements

Do you have any house rules to suggest? I don't require any.

If you can't download the 1.602 upgrade I can simply email it to you. It is about 2.3 MB.

Hello again

Most of the options you've selected sound good to me. I still cannot download 1.601, so I will take you up on your offer. Send me a PM with your email, and we will fine-tune things from there.

Later...

I'd very much like to do a game but prefer one with a LITTLE bit less to do, like Sec 4 (South Pacific). Can play either side. Are you interested? :)
