HE?

Post by Adamo »

Could someone explain the 'HE' numbers that are listed for the various weapons in the game. From what I understand, HE stands for High Explosive. When you right click on a unit or look it up in the encyclopedia there is a number in the HE column for every weapon that the unit has. Are these numbers simply a scale to gauge the 'firepower' or the 'strength' of any given weapon? I always thought that a 'high HE' weapon is good against soft targets (ie infantry) and a 'high AP' weapon is good against hard targets (ie AFV, halftracks, etc).

Is any of what I've written correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When you right click on a unit and see (if I understand you correctly) a HE rating for, say, grenades, you'll notice that the top of the table reads 'Penetration'. Is this the bit you mean? If it is, it means armour penetration capability of a HE round or grenade. Also will list AP penetration or HEAT and APCR penetration.

Ahh, I might have understood you wrong. The HE column on an infantry unit for ALL their weapons is how much ammunition they have for those weapons.
