"French leave"

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

"French leave"

Post by Treefrog »

Berthier was relieved of a corps command and sent to Paris from Jutland. On the way he simply up and disappeared. When I went to the military advisor and checked to find him, he was plain gone. I guess that's why they call it "French leave". [:@]

An unattached commander can be captured by a nation you are at war with. He'll probably show up leading a cavalry division to smash your weak flank one of those detailed battles.
