HELP !! men & population

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

HELP !! men & population

Post by Treefrog »

"Men: 4/8" appears as an illustration at page 23, bottom right. What does that entry mean? I'm guessing it means "Population presently 4 with possible growth to 8 without modifying anything in the province".

*******
on the resources bar there is a "men" icon of a person at attention that represents "usable population level" per rules, page 56, bottom left. If you build a unit (or draft people) it goes down. The rule suggests the "men" number is simply a function of population. I haven't been watching it closely, so what makes it go up except population growth (per below)? If people starve that turn, does the "men" number go down?

**********

I get messages about "population grows 1". Where does that population growth occur? Is it reflected in the first number/numerator of the "4/8" fraction, i.e. the "4/8" now becomes a "5/8"?

Yes that guess is correct.

Yeah thats the total Men you currently have in your empire; goes up with growth, down with starving and unit builds.

The Economy tab report will tell you the province your man gain/loss will have randomly been assigned to; scroll down until you see it mentioned.
