Production and the icons

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Production and the icons

Why are the icons for indusrty , trade and military production so confusing? I wish they would add a side bar that when you hover over the icon it tells you what the heck it is.

I am short something for building troops, I suspect it is iron or metal or what ever that is called, but who knows since you cant tell what the heck the icon is.
Favoritism is alive and well here.
