RE: Newb Need Help

<t> With a very large force you should have suffered forage attrition unless you had left your army(ies) on supply and had a depot in the same or an adjacent province. If you had accidently pressed D and the cursor was over a province that is the short cut to create a depot there. Check the supply ...

RE: 1.2.26 Beta Update Available

I think that you need to load 1.2.25 and then 1.2.26 as the latter is only a part patch to correct a problem in the former.

RE: Kentucky

<t> The Civil War experience does show that there was stronger support in Kentucky for the Union than for the Confederacy. Certainly there was a very poor response to the later offensive by Bragg/Kirby Smith. Probably the fence sitters remained in the majority (some awaiting proof of southern power ...

RE: Some of the things that make no sense

<t> Thanks Rapier117. Yes, the game is an acquired taste that requires a long and time consuming learning curve but its really enjoyable when you can make sense of it. Quick battles irritate me too but I usually find sufficient detailed battles emerge later in play. <br/>

RE: Speed of events after end of turn

I don't think so but by reading the the events report and battles and treaties reports regularly you should get a good feel for what has happened. The trick is remembering to do so in the middle of a hot war when you just want to progress to the next move!

RE: Prisoners of war rules ruin this game

<t> Its a fair point to raise about automatic reconstitution but its not something that hinders my enjoyment of an outstanding game. Remember that prisoners do take a morale hit, artillery can be captured and cavalry only ever return as infantry. Also prisoner numbers will suffer attrition over time ...

<t> Re 1 and 2: To declare war with a country you must not be allied, in automatic peace, at peace agreed by treaty or at war with a country that your proposed opponent is at war with. In your examples its probably the last one.<br/>

RE: 1.2.26 Beta Update Available

It should appear in the windows program list of COG items: click start; all programs; crown of glory; COG Manual Update. The old manual is still there as well and remains the link on the games opening screen which might be causing the confusion.

It wasn't meant to be deleleted so hopefully it will be restored with the next patch.

RE: defaulting a treaty

I presume you got the details from the treaty tab report screen which would identify the source treaties. I have had problems with older treaties disappearing from the treaty list but its very surprising for them to disappear as soon as six months (if there they can be cancelled).

RE: War Declaration

<t> To declare war you must: <br/>
<br/>
1. Not be allied with that country (you first have to cancel an alliance)<br/>
2. Not be within an automatic peace period with it (eg 18 months after a full surrender).<br/>
3. Not be under a peace with it agreed by treaty (until the treaty is cancelled ...

RE: Making containers ?

<t> An army or corps container unit is built in a home province or conquered one. When produced it can then be ordered to move to the province where the units are (unless they are already located there) or vice versa. Up to six units plus leaders can normally be placed in a corps container and eight ...

RE: Making containers ?

<t> You will need to build either a corps or army (your starting force should have included one or more of the latter). Click on a province, click on province management and click on military production to bring up a list of the units that can be built there. Each build selected will cost resources ...

Respect Neutrality Treaty Clauses

<t> Are these too easy for offering nations to get accepted at present? For example in a payment treaty between Russia and England - the latter accepted Portugal(!) as one of three neutral countries being respected by Russia for two years(the others being Batavia and Friesland) in exchange for a ...

Press p to go to the countries screen. For your country left click the second box (with two faces) to the right of the large number 1-8. The other boxes include the glory, objectives and training reports. The economy screen also has access to these reports.

RE: Foraging

<t> The advantage of supply is that it enables any reinforcements from the trained draft pool to increase your units strength as the units don't suffer any forage attrition losses. The downside is that it costs money and food - 1 money and 2 food per infantry division and 1 money and 1 food for each ...
