Experienced Opponent wanted

<t> I love the game and I am looking for a new opponent. I would like someone very experienced in the game. I have played dozens of PBEM and know the system well. I am not saying I am good, but I have played extensively and have found that if you do not know the game your are in trouble. The game ...

I have extra spies in the regions you occupy and pay them well in greenbacks and whiskey. There is no hope, plus your bright blue uniforms standout. I hope this helps.

RE: Fort Sumpter fired on

All those parameters sound good. I have played PBEM for WBTS quite extensively. Let me know if the game is still open. I have sent an email also.

Awesome work. A real gaming accomplishment, I have been spending extra time with the wife, just to build up the credits this game will require of my time.

I can assume the role. I have loaded the latest patch 1.40, which is the official version of 1.34 Beta. I generally use historical and sub-commanders. let me know. Thanks.

RE: Recommend reading?

I too would recommend the Shelby Foote Trilogy and the Bruce Catton Triliogy. Additionally, Catton's book "A Stillness At Appomatox" is fantastic. Of course there are countless books, but these are great overviews, with plenty of detail and perspective.

Project Management

Game is a year late and no end in site. Snotty answers and lack of info have me moving on. I still love the original, hope the AE gets sorted out someday.

RE: Game Settings Issue

I am guessing it must be a setting on my computer, as it starts with initial install and on new games. Any ideas on how this might be fixed? Thank you.

RE: Game Settings Issue

I am reinstalling the game and these problems are prevalent from the start, even before installing patches? Are there any computer settings that might affect this ?

RE: Game Settings Issue

Thanks, I have checked and I am running the Beta Version, as are my opponents. Everything else works fine, but this just slows the game and makes it very difficult to track leaders, units, command ratings etc. Perhaps I will try another install and hope for better.

Game Settings Issue

<t> I was forced to reinstall WBTS when my old laptop crashed. I have installed all updates (Have done this 3X). The leader ratings and names no longer show on the units or commander in the boxes. I have tried all of the different preference settings and nothing corrects this. Even When I set it to ...

RE: I've been away for a while...

<t> I often notice that one side or the other often takes significant casualties first, but they often balance out if the the forces/commanders/scouting/CSCs/terrain/entrenchments/leader casualties etc are considered. It often starts lopsided. In the end though I find the battle results relate well ...
