Re: Craters, Crosses, and Contrast

Craters and Red Crosses are difficult to distinguish. It would help if the colors could be adjusted on either of these map icons. Thanks for "listening". Great game BTW. :)

The crater and crosses art files (simple .pngs) are in Modules\Common\Map Markers. You can clone the ones you want to ...

Re: Map creation - exporting PNG for import into FC

Interesting - my qGIS color selections match the ones in the spreadsheet. I've attached screenshots of my style tab and the individual color definitions; does anything here seem off to you?

It looks like in 'post-processing' the colors are being changed due to the +9 brightness setting.

qgis3 ...

Re: Map creation - exporting PNG for import into FC

The colors used for elevation do not match the (narrow) bands defined for the elevations in the MapDataTypes_FCCW.xls spreadsheet:

How did you pick the colors? Which style did you apply to the elevation data?
The most frequent green color on the map is RGB 141, 151, 90 which falls outside all the ...

Re: Game not starting in old laptop

The VCRUNTIME140.dll and MSVCP140.dll are part of Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 redistributables. They might be used by the Matrix installer or by libraries that our game (indirectly) depends on.

Please find, download and install the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Redistributables by following this ...

Re: Dismounts with NVGs, NVG equipped troops operating vehicles with no NVG or thermals

I'm referring to the apparent in game behavior and also the spotting distance rendered in the game.

Quick test is to load for example "Steel Rain" and play around with the m113 ACAV on the FLOT.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Dismounts with NVGs, NVG equipped troops operating vehicles with no NVG or thermals

Based on a quick check of the code: If the game has this wrong, the problem is the other way around, by always including in spotting calculations the capabilities of all dismount teams and carriers, even though the dismount teams might have been mounted up or the carriers may have been sent to the ...

Re: Weird estimated arrival times in Tournament game

Yes. This is a known issue, not very visible unless you build bridges, where the time estimate of subsequent orders 'wobbles' when moving along the path, with the initial estimate being a good estimate and subsequent values less so.
We don't have a fix yet.

Re: Air Assault BPs

If the airborne force start dismounted, the BP system is pretty robust. It was designed to handle a second insertion, mid scenario, where the transport helicopters may have taken losses but still needed to pick up airborne forces and insert them.

Re: Wider VP areas when open field

Interesting suggestion.

We can blame the current VP rules for a lot of things, but they are predictable and simple.
If the scenario runs the maximum time, the VP rules require last ownership of the exact VP hex.

Any alternative set of rules might fix some problems but simultaneously comes with new ...

Re: Thinking Of Buying

I recommend judging the game and potential complexity from gameplay videos, for example last night's video where team member Andrew walks us through the Basic tutorial:

The team grew after releasing Red Storm, but still has the same core, aging like you, and ...

Re: T-80 vs M1A1

The only difference I see in the database between the M1A1 and the T-80 is the M1A1 has TISC, both share the LFCS trait. The T-80BV has a higher PF value. Both main guns' ammo also share the exact same maximum and effective range.

The database also has the M1Ax series as a larger tank (size 5 ...

Re: Feature suggestion - unit movement enhancements

Another suggestion.

I filled out your survey but forgot a vital point to include: I hope you make longer scenarios because I often run out of time in the middle of heated battles in these Flashpoint games. Or include an option for the player to add on more time if possible. I like longer battles ...

Re: Campaigns?

Unit losses carry forward, although your campaign force will have reserves flowing in, to make up some of the losses (this happens between the scenarios).

Surviving units still gain experience (increase of training level), with the gain being larger for inexperienced (untrained) units than for ...

Re: Air Assault BPs

FM5 says that embarkation affects the whole scenario, I figure that means that loading troops into helicopters before creating the BPs, which would then limit the same troops to the same helicopters for every BP, Question - can I manually disembark troops and embark them on different helicopters ...

Re: Game crashed trying to build bridge

Thanks for reporting the problem, and sharing the game save.

It seems like a penalty for a player to set up and plan orders for a scenario with no knowledge of the existing situation on the map before the scenario begins when the map situation will be shown as soon as the scenario starts.

Re: “Clarification Needed: Hold, Screen, and Assault Mechanics”

In Cold War, both Move Deliberate and Assault now have the same preparation delay (15 mins, under "normal" conditions), so the delay should not play a role in deciding on Move Deliberate versus Assault.

This is a change from Southern Storm, where Assault had a 30 mins preparation delay, and Move ...

Re: There`s still somthing wrong with the Staf Alert

If I remember correctly, this was caused by the UnitDashboard incorrectly listing an alert for the helicopters being outside command range in the UnitDashboard' staff tab.
This will be fixed in the next game update.

Re: A Time to Dance.. How?

About the first dance it's another interesting story that in the debriefing the h-hour is 0300 but the game starts at 0030. And it's really weird that the given mission dictates the cavalry to take huensfeld, which can only be reached at around 0900 but only 5 hours are allowed for the mission ...

OK from Wiki M2 BFV has 900 rds of chain gun ammo. 2200 rds of 7.62 mmg ammo. In FCCW, it is
90 chain gun
120 VSW

every min it fires either 1 chain gun burst or 1 vsw burst. That is either 10 rds of chaingun or 19 rds of MG? per minute?

Re: Explosions animations and sounds not matching units destroyed

Unless you have have a classified detection of the target, the target's step count is subject to fog-of-war, and most likely being under reported, so you might see a smaller observed step count reduction than you have seen hit animations.
The game also models overkill (insufficient coordination ...
