RE: New official look of maps - in the future?

Just wondering if a view option to clear map of terrain elements would help to give an uncluttered look at elevation?

I'm using the link you provide above at blogspot.com and downloading by clicking on the
estab files under files for download. Deleted files and downloaded again after your reply and got same result.
I must be getting an older file.

RE: 2nd Stalingrad Scenario - Race to the Volga Is Available For Download

<r> My 1st try at adding a scenario. I copied the files over as directed although I wasn't sure how to handle the image file so I extracted to file EPSTEstab_Images<br/>
in the Estab folder which is how BFTB and COTA images are stored. Operation Hubertus runs but Race to the Volga gives me messages ...

RE: Recording Video

<t> I just tried it with CaptureWizPro and it worked, cursor and all. You may need a second monitor if you want full screen. It won't let the video controls - stop, pause, record - reside inside the capture window. <br/>
You can Google CaptureWizPro. There is a free trial available. It also works ...

RE: 3-D Maps?

I'm hoping one of the map overlays for the planned CO2 will be contours. I asked for this a while back but Dave said the current graphics package could not support transparent overlays.

RE: Which style?

<t> Really like your top control bar. It would be nice if the info and command boxes could be rearranged as desired for a "user preferred" workspace and moved to a second monitor so as to leave the map uncluttered - pretty standard in most graphics programs. Might also be nice to be able to open ...

RE: East Front Game

<t> Guess I don't know how to do that phoenix. I run the Bulge BattleFieldTour in Google earth but how do you get elevation contours on the 2D map?<br/>
<br/>
I asked for a contour overlay before but Dave said the graphic software they are using did not support transparent overlays - at least that ...

RE: East Front Game

<t> I agree - no sprites or 3D maps needed. However, in real life the 3rd dimension is represented on field maps in the form of contour lines. Learning to read them allows you to see the lay of the land at a glance and to locate details like high ground, ravines, ridges, slopes, etc. I know there is ...

Beta install

<t> Sorry to have to ask but....<br/>
<br/>
should the beta be installed on the 4.1.235 update?<br/>
<br/>
if so, then what do I have to do if a new beta is released and when the final update is released? Do I have to go back to 4.1.235 each time and if so what is the best way to do this?<br ...

RE: New Beta v4.1.235 Now Available

I know the answer to this is here somewhere but I'm tired of looking. If I install a beta patch and then another is released, do I install over the previous beta or do I have to do a clean install of the original program first?

RE: Progress

<t> Too bad about the transparencies and no contours. <br/>
<br/>
In fact, it would be nice if the maps could be scanned from copies of the actual field maps used during the war. Then I suppose you would have a slightly different map for the Axis and the Allies. Since the maps would be different ...

RE: Progress

<t> my first effort at a post - comment to Arjuna ref 3D map<br/>
<br/>
A 3D map might be useful as a training aid to develope the ability to visualize the terrain based on a 2D contour map.. Surely the 2D contour map is more historically correct.<br/>

One of the better improvements you ...
