RE: US Artillery in WWII: 105mm firing rate

<t> Sorry should have been burst fire. What I mean is a a very high rate of fire that can be achieved. Hence the Sherman 105mm example. For instance the four rounds of 105mm fired quickly could demolish a house and provide a dust cloud [ assuming its brick built] within a minute.&nbsp; Or if the ...

RE: The Bocage

<t> A lot is made of the hedgerow devices and I must admit I think they were a great PR exercise, and also had some value. There were drawbacks like tanks bouncing off a thick hedge and the crew and tank being badly shaken up. Damp fields would weaken traction and cross slopes make it difficult to ...

RE: US Artillery in WWII: 105mm firing rate

<t> I am curious how burts fire is managed in games. The theorretical fire rate of a Sherman75mm is 20 ish which has no practical application other than if you were trying to knockdown a large building not too far away. If you are trying to nail another vehicle at 1500metres then your rate of fire ...

RE: PC: Ostfront Vs CM: Normandy

<t> Tsk tsk lads. As though I am not familiar with power to weight! I feel insulted : )<br/>
<br/>
Power to weight is way too simplistic to reflect terrain performance. Track pressure - that is psi. is also highly important. But not totally as most of us will know the MkIV lang was terribly nose ...

RE: PC: Ostfront Vs CM: Normandy

<t> I do have concerns that in a drive for really accurate maps the limitations of the game system become more obvious. Absolute accuracy really must be secondary to player enjoyment. <br/>
<br/>
Lets say I can now do different graded slopes so well that the generic game engine for vehicles ...

RE: PC: Ostfront Vs CM: Normandy

Diablo is a troll.

He has been over at BF saying the same things about random maps lacking in CM:BN. And having pretty much the same answers as here. So it would seem he is just having "fun" rattling cages.

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>Sorry, but I have to disagree with you.
