RE: TOAW IV vanishes

<t> I am also using win 10. Losing the program was so bad that I began saving after almost each move. I recently switched TOAW from full screen to window. When I reduce the size of the window I seem to get fewer program shutdowns (although they still happen fairly regularly, enough for me to ...

How to control tool tips for map

<t> Curtis Lemay,<br/>
Thank you for your user interface thread. It is an eye opener, very helpful.<br/>
I was looking to see if I could alter the tool tip actions when hovering over a point on the map. I know how to <br/>
change the timing, or turn it off altogether. But, is there any way to ...

RE: The operational art of bombardment?

<t> I have two related questions that remain unanswered after about an hour searching through the manual.<br/>
<br/>
1. For HQ's, I understand the two symbols that indicate whether it will be an attack or a bombardment. Is there a way for the player to choose which the HQ will initiate? If not ...

RE: Gary Grigsby's War in the West is out now on Steam!

<t> RealChuckB,<br/>
Thanks for the response. It was helpful. For me, it would be more valuable if the entire game was online and I could play from anywhere without having to install the game on a local machine, but, otherwise, I see no compelling reason for me to use. I am going to continue ...

RE: Gary Grigsby's War in the West is out now on Steam!

Here's a question from a beginner. If it already has a discussion somewhere, I would appreciate a link.
Why would I want to play on Steam rather than my PC?
thanks,

RE: what is impact of blowing a bridge?

Thanks, that was very helpful. I have gone back and finally noticed some rivers being called "super rivers", some just "rivers" and other "canals". Now I know what to look for and will start to gauge their impacts on movement as well as supply.
Boy, this is fun.
Thanks

what is impact of blowing a bridge?

<t> I have searched through the manual and the forum but am still a bit confused about the benefit of blowing a bridge or road that crosses a river. <br/>
If I blow a bridge across water, can the enemy still cross it?<br/>
If they can cross it, what do you gain by blowing them?<br/>
I ask because ...

RE: Time consuming effort to fire artillery in large game

<r> Thanks for the tips. The HQ double click gives me all the fixed artillery positions. Sorting the OOB is very helpful. It will help with this and other searches. I am not much for reading manuals online... old fashion I guess. Its OK for searches on specifics, but that doesn't give you a rounded ...

RE: INI File

Thanks piotre, I also had to go into view/hidden files to make the ini files view-able. Now I will poke around to see if there is a setting that will stop the constant crashing. If not, I may just go back to toaw III.
