RE: Screen size and manual

It's

my documents/sowwl/sowwl.ini

The one in the work folder is just to restore the defaults if you want to, it's not read by the game.

RE: Crash on Modifications Menu

<r> OK, easy to recreate, thank you. It happens if you click below the items. Or anywhere in the list that is not an item. So don't do that <E>:)</E> Clicking on the items seems fine and you can select the mods and enable them. Bummer, thought we had a crash free release, but thank you very much for...

RE: How does the game handle Squares & Arty crews

<t> Officers will hide in squares. The pain in the butt test team hammered me again and again until I got this right. Had to rework the square formation multiple times to make room. We did not have enough room for arty crews though. Our implementation of square and unit spacing just does not make en...

RE: Best scenarios to start out with?

Just follow the progression of the battle. It was designed in that fashion. May I also suggest running some sandbox to help you with your controls. Line of site, division size should give you good practice in fighting situations.

RE: "Courier Message Screen"/ "AI"

So we have another Courier nut on our hands :)

Conor is our team Courier nut and he's had me fix some oddities in there for a future patch. Keep playing with those Couriers because we did some nice fixes and enhancements in the next patch!

RE: Perpetual Conga Line Frustration

I don't think it will matter how you get there. As long as the save shows what you describe, a unit constantly wheeling. We have seen this before and it's better than when we started, but obviously not good enough. It's threat analysis and problem is that it changes as the unit wheels.

RE: Perpetual Conga Line Frustration

Queeg, do you have a saved game of this situation? I want to make sure any fixes that I work on address exactly this situation that you are seeing. If you do, please email to sowsupport at scourgeofwar dot com, thanks.

RE: Officially off the fence

<t> Everyone has their own list about what it's takes to be an accurate game. I've heard many lists and most of them are very different. I'm the same way, so I understand. We focus very intently on certain aspects of the game, to make them as accurate as possible. But to do everything is a goal we h...

RE: Perpetual Conga Line Frustration

<t> I am looking into this issue for a patch, and I completely agree with your analysis. It's just not right at all. In messing with the AI to handle other issues, I have inadvertantly created this situation. I have our QA team working to get me a good non-modded saved game of this situation, and as...

<t> I have an IT degree and they never covered editing the registry. Though that was a while ago, might be different now. Emailing our support is the path for people that really want to get their issues resolved. It's also a good way to find out that we have a database of reg codes to email that we'...

RE: Installing as Stand-alone

I've seen the idea of uninstalling GB, then installing CV, then installing GB again. That might work, much simpler than my idea :) We never intended this, so the only way to do it is to find a way to trick the installers.

RE: Installing as Stand-alone

<t> Adding the scenario selection screen into GB would change a lot of code. We had a hard time figuring out how exactly to add the map packs and there are a lot of limitations that we found with the current design. As this game is focused around modding and adding new content, we're learning new st...

RE: Can one save in multiplayer?

<t> There is a way to 'kind' of do what you want, but I haven't looked into it for a while. You can create a scenario during a game or even from the saved game and then you can launch the new game from the scenario. Saved games have a ton of info that is just not sent across during init and it would...

RE: Brilliant Game

The big advantage to buying our expansions is the historical OOBs and of course the maps. Not everyone plays scenarios, but having our historically researched OOBs on the historically researched maps really ups the worth.
