RE: Allies moving towards war too quickly and readily?

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>Another interesting hypothetical to consider is what if the appeasers in Britain had prevailed and Britain had not entered the war. What would France have done? Would Germany, Italy and Japan have been a better match for the USA and Russia? <e>
</e></QUOTE> <br/> ... ...

RE: Allies moving towards war too quickly and readily?

<r> Thanks Hubert! I didn't realize the mobs were script driven. I'll look at those scripts. Hopefully I can disable some events without tipping the balance over to the Axis.<br/> <br/> Thanks to the respondees. This is a great discussion topic, really the two great WWII hypotheticals - what happens...

Allies moving towards war too quickly and readily?

<t> I'm at the end of 1941 in my first game as Axis. I am playing a "delayed aggression" strategy in both Europe and the Pacific, with the Axis focusing on the Mideast and Africa in preparation for a spring 42 attack on Russia, including opening up another front via Persia from Iraq. Similarly I'm p...

RE: A way to see the turns messages again?

<t> I suggest a new Graph that is a timeline of all decision events, by major power. You could do more things in the graph as well, like declarations of war. I'd also love to see a timeline showing mobilization levels, and events and other factors that influenced mobilization changes, esp. for the U...

DE 808 not firing

<t> I'm playing Axis against the default AI. It's Aug 1, 1941 and DE 808 did not fire though Japan controls Hainan and has a Garrison in Haikou (US is 54% and Indochina is Axis 10%). Japan did take the DE 802 option (annex Haiphong). Any idea why? Maybe DE 802 interferes with 808?<br/> <br/> Maybe c...

RE: Supply question

<r> <QUOTE><s>
</s>ORIGINAL: Hubert Cater<br/> <br/> Likely the supply is as reported for the HQ, a supply value of 1, but then the HQ in turn will be distributing 5 supply to other units around it, and thus the 5 showing on the supply map where the HQ is located.<br/> <br/> Hopefully this mak...

Supply question

<r> Why is Feng HQ shown here at supply 1? The mouseover shows Supply: 1 (5) in gray, Action Pts: 2/3. It is on a supply 5 hex.<br/> <br/> <IMG src="https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/upfiles/44477/007DB9BB17E444BBB1BA2BF2021C11CA.gif"><s>[img]</s><URL url="https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/upfiles...

RE: Comparison with WiF 4/5 ?

<t> Thanks gang for all the helpful feedback. I think all of the speculations about how WiF 4 (= WAR 4?) are correct: DIVs only for a few Majors (US CW Japan maybe Russia), CONVs are abstract, etc.).<br/> <br/> What caused me concern was seeing naval units depicted as individual ships, plane types i...

Comparison with WiF 4/5 ?

<t> I'm considering purchasing this game. I've played WiF 4 the board game many years ago. Looking at the screenshots, units, AARs etc. available on this forum, it looks like a substantially different game. Is there a summary of the differences between the board and computer versions anywhere?<br/> ...

RE: Crash on Startup

Thanks! Using Internet Explorer to download the ActiveX version of Flash, then doing the copy/rename trick described above, fixed the problem.

RE: Crash on Startup

<t> I'm having the same problem as Floyd and LogicalMeans with missing file 'flash.ocx'. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit, so the suggested fix doesn't apply exactly.<br/> <br/> 1. Main issue is when I download and install the standard Flash11 from Adobe I don't see any .ocx file to rename.<br/> 2. I'm looki...
