Re: Ukraine 2022 - Development Thread

Hello man. AFAIK, every Russian brigade/regiment should have 2 BTGs instead of 3 during the first phase of war. Some may have one (e.g. the 6th Guards Tank Regiment of the 90th Guards TD). 屏幕截图 2022-11-23 111113.png A Russian motor rifle BTG should have 10/13 MBTs, while a tank BTG should have 31. P...

RE: Air Assualt LZ choose: what is the logic?

These units are only composed of rifle squads and have no AA strength.
And basing on my experience, enemy AA capability alongside the infiltration path does not affect heliborne operations at all.

RE: Air Assualt LZ choose: what is the logic?

<r> I made a test scenario and found something more puzzling. <br/> It seems that the pathfinding logic of heliborne units is, at least, with some problems.<br/> <br/> <IMG src="https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/upfiles/49470/A19E57ECE27E464C86344D70FDB6C68A.jpg"><s>[img]</s><URL url="https://www.m...

Air Assualt pathfinding: what is the logic?

<r> Helicopters should have been able to transport air assault troops to any hexes within range.<br/> However, in scenarios, I always find hexes that are within range, and not occupied by the enemy, yet are not landable. (marked on the image with lt.blue X)<br/> That always happens when the only pos...

Road or Improved road?

What is the difference between a "road" and an "improved road" reflects in the real world?
Shall all the hardened road (concrete/asphalt) be classified as "improved road"?

RE: Nuclear Ordnance Delivery

Could be hard. The modeling of TOAW naval battles is more like decisive engagements between major surface battle groups basing on the experience of WWI/WWII, where the submarines hardly take a part in.

RE: Nuclear Ordnance Delivery

The contemporary TOAW depiction on nuclear warfares may resemble that in the 1940s-early 60s, but not the 1970s-90s when a lot of nuclear warheads was issued to general purpose forces.

Nuclear Ordnance Delivery

<t> Each unit can only deliver one nuclear warhead on one target during a combat resolve.<br/> But in a classic Cold War scenario, there should be substantial use of tactical nuclear weapons, where sometimes over 30 nuclear warheads would be delivered into a small vicinity, while over 100 nuclear wa...

RE: The Secret Soviet Plan to Crush NATO in 7 Days

The number of operational Chinese IRBM/ICBMs never exceeds 30 during the cold war.
This number further decreased in the 1990s following a series of LZ-2 launches.

RE: Any way to prevent units from splitting?

Spitting unit before deployment is also problematic. It prevents further modification on Forces, so if the designer wants to even slightly tweak the force, he needs to first re-assemble the units, then modifies the unit, and at last re-split the units once again.

RE: Any way to prevent units from splitting?

And I don't think that to introduce such a mechanism (to prevent unit dividing) is difficult. Anyway, it depends on Ralph and Bob.

RE: Any way to prevent units from splitting?

<r> In many division/regiment level scenarios (for example, Poland 1939), the designer will deliberately set the size of independent battalions to "sections" to prevent dividing. At least the size icon of a battalion (II) resembles to section (..).<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> <IMG src="https://www.matrix...
