RE: Wow, this game stinks!

For that budget, i'm sure Roseanne Barr would volunteer to be the woman in the commercial. Of course, that would be like a WMD release and send the other side running for cover.

RE: Wow, this game stinks!

<t> Another example, for those readers among us: First Air by Michael Skinner. While I was "eh" for the first half of the book, the initial strikes are the type of thing I am envisioning where F-4 Phantoms did some SEAD work followed by low level passes by Tornados with cluster munitions which had ...

RE: Wow, this game stinks!

<t> Thanks for the responses...not so much an issue to look at, more my curiousity which Sunburn has addressed. I have noticed quite a few "my munitions didn't drop/planes didn't attack" questions over time which track back to a theme about the cloud layer and visibility. The answer to that, lower ...

RE: Has the "RTB no matter what" situation been changed?

<t> Ok..i'll chime in but ask this more of a logic question to any folks on here w/ actual mission planning experience. My interpretation is that the WAG is logically correct and here's why:<br/>

RE: Operation Biwako, 1999 -- new beta for testing

<t> Thanks Mikmyk,<br/>
<br/>
I posted in the main forum rather than here, but I think it's two problems really. One is maneuver and the second is behavior in contact. LUA may provide the maneuver solution (or maybe the unit size idea I posted in the other forum); however, contact may be a ...

Thought around land-warfare.

<t> It appears that one of the issues around realistic ground combat beyond simple direct action activities is the encroachment of one unit upon another. At least to me it appears that a ground unit's "size" may be what causes the stomping-on since it doesn't appear to be the equal to the coverage ...

RE: Operation Biwako, 1999 -- new beta for testing

<t> The formations were all over the map. It may be due to the entire formation trying to move at 24 kts. The result was "interesting" with the trucks up front, followed by the air defense, followed by the combat elements. I just let it run and watched my force get wiped out rather quickly.<br ...

He said he dropped targets. I'm guessing the ROE is set to engage targets of opportunity and so it keeps retargeting.

<t> Did you establish the formations or are they just random? Some platoons show a 400m front while others are stacked on top of each other; however, the formations "seem" semi-structured (but that could be the AI). That was for Bravo. Alpha is string out in a line with the AAA up front =)<br/>

RE: some more of this "eternally circling too close"-bug

<t> FYI, the infinite circle is the same behavior as if you set a plane with LGBs above the cloud layer (so it can't mark the target), tell it to ignore plotted points, and then allocate weapons. I had 4 hornets circling around infinitely within range of Shilkas because they never hit their weapon ...

RE: Can ground combat happen in Command

<t> The problem with going too overboard on land combat is the amount of deconflicting of assets necessary for realistic behavior. In the air & salt sub-theaters you have a sparse population of assets in many cases, or semi-static targets when you consider airfields/IADs/etc. On the ground the ...

I always though "Select side" meant I had to choose french fries, broccoli, or fruitcup. Shouldn't it say "Blow chit up" or "Fight" ? j/k.

Select side, NATO.
Would you like Tomahawks with that?

RE: Another Game crash

Gunner98, I dumped sound and ran a mass-launch opening about 2-3x bigger than I had ever done. Even at 1sec compression each second took 8-10 to process, but it went through the whole strike and kept going. I can live without sound!
