LOS and Level 1 hill

<r> The German units in hex 5,15 (circled lower right) fire on US units in hex 1,8 (circled upper left). Assuming the LOS indeed misses the wooden building, there are two level 1 hexes which seem to be in the LOS (red numbers 1 and 2). In the hex numbered 1, the level 1 graphic extends in such a way...

RE: APPCrash

I run it on MBP with Wine - free and no need to use/buy Windows. It took me about an hour to download Wine and set it up - launches from my desktop now with Apple script app. Very easy.

RE: Rout question

Without a leader broken units may stay in the first cover they reach. That is what I think is happening.

RE: OSX Version

<r> I am running the game on a MBP (mid 2012, OS X 10.11.3) with Wine and it works fine. I even can use Splashtop to play TOTH on my iPad. If you don't know Wine, it's not like using Parallel or as cumbersome as using Bootcamp (and having to own Windows) but an open source way to run Windows program...

RE: OBA targetting empty hex

AI seems to be able to target empty hexes with OBA since in one scenario the AI was dropping mortars before I had even made contact with the enemy -

RE: So, is it worth it?

The scenario editor can create games with 12 boards for the map and 504 turns long - and it takes me an hour to play 6 turns. I think that would take a long time to complete - if you're interested!

RE: Game End Bug?

Good to know it's a feature - I'll modify my tactics accordingly! Great game!! Fun even when I am "robbed" of a major victory!

RE: So, is it worth it?

<t> Totally subjective, but my opinion is that it is worth it. Some scenarios are short ( I like that as I like to finish in one sitting), but long ones are being offered to, ie. campaign ones and check out the Omaha Beach scenario under mods. The AI is good, but that is my opinion and your mileage ...

Game End Bug?

<t> In my Advancing Fire I eliminated a enemy half squad which was occupying a VP, but the game ended immediately (must have been the last enemy unit). <br/> I was thinking I would be able to Advance and take the VP (I had 3 squads adjacent). RE: Ok, so how's the most important thing in the game?.....

I've been known to fall for the blind spot ambush - like last night when the AI cut me up badly with long range mg fire - and the AI seemed to be getting better die rolls for sustained ROF, but that happens in the board game too!

Have had the same happen - when I tried a move to a particular hex got a dialogue box telling me the move could not be made, but when I tried to select the units again and move to a legal hex the movement was done.

<r> I created a version of the ASL mod with vehicle Movement Points in the upper right corner. RE: Where we are & where we are going

This is a great game and loving the mods and new(old) scenarios. Hot keys, multilevel, walls and hedges, new nationalities, refining interface, etc. all good ideas! Super game as it is - opinion of an old gamer (first AH games were Luftwaffe and Panzer Leader).

RE: What do you think?

Great game! The UI of pushing cardboard on a map board, checking tables, rolling dice, marking units . . . for me this is a very good version of the physical game on computer. I'd rather keep the feel of playing a tabletop game even if that means the UI is not as smooth.
