RE: Passing the Initiative

<t> Yes. Winning initiative is better than not winning it. But you get to a point where it feels like the pendulum swings the other way. Let's assume an absurd scenario where you win every initiative and you take all of your French actions at once. You would likely eliminate or rout a few enemy ...

RE: Passing the Initiative

<t> That is a fair point. I also recommend improving the odds of the allies winning initiative. It should be closer to 60/40. In my game, it has been more like 75/25. I'm often completely done and then the enemy gets to make 6 or 8 moves, which is a bit of a disadvantage for Napoleon really. You ...

Historically, yes movement should be much faster but it wouldn't work very well in the game. It's already fairly easy to sort of play 'zone defense' and smack Allied nations as they come in. It might be interesting to try, but I think they ...

Movement

<t> I would recommend the following changes to the movement mechanics.<br/>
<br/>
1. Leaders (if moving alone) should be able to move an unlimited and unrestricted distance during any turn. A turn is 2 months long. A leader and his small retinue could easily travel to just about anywhere on the ...

RE: Passing the Initiative

<t> If you pass the initiative, you should lose 1 action point. That makes sense. But if you do pass your turn, the enemy should automatically win the next initiative. If they also pass, they lose a point as well. Otherwise, they have to take a turn. That would work well. Both sides can essentially ...

RE: Just a thought; putting unit experience number on the upper right of the unit tile.

I would also recommend making leader tiles look different from the troops. Perhaps the entire background of the tile could be the color that represents that nation. This way leaders would not look like really powerful cavalry.
