Re: Big Campaign. Riga on turn 1

Riga can be taken on turn one without worries.

Use only infantry to break open wide holes. Tanks can advance to far side of the river. I've seen 1 tank div take it with support multiple times.

I use 2 in a hasty b/c one time in my ancient past i failed with 1.

You can get good odds at Riga ...

Re: Tracking Spreadsheets

I have started to write a c # application to load the exported files into an application.
(WITE2).

My initial screen shows the HQ and its subordinates.

Clicking on an HQ in that list will give its subordinates.
My initial aims:

1. to identify HQ and its underlings.
2. To easily see the sub ...

Hey guys, long time fan of WITE 1 and 2.
My friend on these forums, Old Crow Balthazar recommended I share my new series here on Barbarossa for all the eastern front fans to enjoy.
Here is the link to it on YT

Re: Barbarossa Objectives

Moscow has been captured before T10 even vs. humans. If you optimize for it, it guess you could do it T6 or 7 Vs AI as a good player? I less the AI stacks a lot of troops in Moscow.

Re: Big Campaign. Riga on turn 1

It is possible. Either with the 36th mot and 6th tanks or with the totenkopf, add to the XXXXI Corp. Add pioneers and flak, and it should be possible to break into the city. I have played Road to Leningrad several times and recommend using very few mot units near Riga. The majority should cross ...

Re: War in the East - New Open Beta v1.12.07 (March 5 2024)

Is there still a dev for updates?

A player in a German forum has 350k Rumanians in the manpower pool because there is a lack of arms points to equip them. Germany is swimming in arms points. There should be some more flexibility re exports. Or maybe this is even a bug. Happy to make a full report ...

I am most happy to see that your awesome AAR will be available for a public and English speaking audience!

To all readers, prepare for the most detailed RtW2 AAR you have ever seen, with a character based storyline and detailed reporting of all game events.
Best regards

Re: Defending Greater Germania 1942 - Includes combined WitW and WitE2 AARs

As more of a field commander, my experience with Ersatzheer politics to steer manpower your way is limited... In WitE2, you can change the TOE of airbases. Did you try this?
What units are under Luftflotte Reich? Are you able to set their TOE to a lower level? I suppose that there are a lot of Flak ...

Do you plan to throw Allied formations back into the Sea from the beachheads? Some summer vacation in France and Italy is ok, but summer is over soon.

What is the idea of having all the cav divisions in the rear waiting around? They are very useful for flipping hexagons whenever you get a breakthrough.

Thanks for the info. Clearly we need an AAR Gulag to make people finish their AARs under a forced writing regime.

Re: The End is Near - HLYA(AXIS) vs Chaos45(Soviet)

So far the steady 2-3 hex per turn German retreat is working flawless to prevent the Soviets from doing much of anything across basically the entire front.
Feeling reminded of Pelton's hex to turn ratio retreats :D

Any updates on this game? From the little information shared I guess Soviets ...

Re: Anyone here play solitaire (both sides Human-controlled)?

I've been playing both sides of the grand campaign (solitaire style) quite a bit lately and am finding it a lot of fun. Needless to say, I can't deceive the other side as to what they plan to do but it's been very diverting and instructive to see exactly what issues the other side labors under ...

On further review, I have come to agree that a 23k B is a good "late-early" build -- if you MUST build cap ships before Torp Prot.

1900 23kN BC/Bs are not possible anymore in later versions, AFAIK. I simply go with 22kN Bs instead. You can't chase down all starting fleet enemy cruisers anymore ...

Re: How can I set up "Shoot and retreat to pre-defined spot" orders?

True, but you can't determine the path and end point. So a prepared retreat where the first line fires and then quickly withdraws to the next defence line into pre-designated locations to reload is not really possible.

Unfortunately, yes. I hope this feature can be put on Dev team's to do ...
