Re: Republic Production Notes

Another note on the number of weapons.

They are not very high at the beginning of the war. And in fact I think they had much more in stock than, for example, about 330 LMGs that I put into the game at the beginning.
(The Spanish army was greatly reduced in numbers, but kept the weapons for possible ...

Re: Republic Production Notes

The 5th Regiment is nothing special in the game.
(it is the future 1st Mixed Brigade)

But it is almost full to begin with (so it will not suffer a significant drop in quality after replenishment) and has good morale and discipline.
It was essentially the deciding factor in the surrender of the army ...

Re: Ship Types Table

Nice and useful.

I'm just not sure if YMS ships clear sea mines.
(I'd say no, but I could be wrong)
I've marked some smaller harbor tugs or boats like this in the game. ;)

Re: What will be the next game?

Excuse me, but do you have any idea how long it takes to create a complete OOb and TOE for one such game??
(or just SCN as you write...)
Many years...

Re: Couple Republican Air Force Edits

he design that took Emile Dewoitine's parasol fighter formula to the apex of its development was the D 27, which was evolved to meet the requirements of the STAe 1926 C1 leger programme for lightweight fighters. Adhering closely to the structural concept of preceding fighters, but embodying much ...

Re: Is Ground Attack Underpowered?

Heavy anti-aircraft fire... ?

That's a pretty rare thing.
In 1936 Spain had 16 Skoda AA guns
(8 in Madrid and 8 in Zaragoza)

Otherwise they used about 50 102mm AA Vickers (the Spanish called them 105/43 Mod 1923) to defend naval bases, in 1936 practically only in Cartagena and Menorca. And a few ...

Re: it could be better

You are of course right....

I know the games HOI, 2by3, TOAW, and a few others quite well.

Honestly:
This is an absolutely unique engine
The original idea of Gary Grisbi (and I actively support it, he was a genius) is developed here almost to perfection.
There is no strategy game that can depict ...

Re: Couple Republican Air Force Edits

thanks for the comments.

Hawker Fury is represented in the game.
But it is not used in SCN 001.
(if you play strictly historical aircraft upgrades, which I really appreciate)

SCN011 should be released, which will solve this.
(as well as many others, for example D27 or SPAD)

Similarly GP1, it will ...

Re: Why Foreign Units Should Appear in Spain

AD Wildebeest, I have quite detailed information on this.
They had torpedoes installed and were training with them.

The first squadron was in the advanced training phase.
The second squadron was in the initial training phase.
The third squadron was just being formed and did not really exist (but ...

Re: Why Foreign Units Should Appear in Spain

I dare to contradict you.

And quite substantially.

The Italians and Germans were killing the Republican Spaniards very intensively. Literally wherever they could...

Re: Italian Replacements

I will add to my previous information.
My test was done with the Logistic model OFF.
(and it works as I write, i.e. it is necessary to occupy the Italian city)

If the Logistic model is ON, it works exactly as the programmer writes.

Re: Italian Replacements

Yes, the Italians must occupy (conquer) a Republican city, thereby creating Italian territory and allowing for replenishment.

Re: Bombardment not performing

Yes. The point is to enter two target hexes for TF.
The first one you will sail to.
The second one you will bomb.

This is a fundamental difference from AE.

Re: Italian Replacements

I made a test SCN.
And yes. Italian and German units do not normally replenish on Spanish territory.

But there is a solution, it works like this:
Just occupy a city on Spanish territory with Italian soldiers,
It will become Italian territory. Move enough supplies using the ON button.
Allow Italian ...

Re: Why so many Chauchats?

I don't know why you should fix it.... ??
You yourself described how you got them.

I spread the production over 6 months, 863 pieces.

That's really a little over 5000 pieces (the Nationalists got even more pieces from other places, but in much smaller numbers).

It's interesting that someone ...

you can get to the older infantry type completely normally.
Manual downgrade.
so it must be a direct upgrade line.

Infantry replacements in general...

Infantry Squad production was set according to the game with AI...

There should have been enough of them, but not an excessively large number (with short-term exceptions)

Nobody counted on a Stalingrad-type battle, where thousands of men would die on the front ...
