Re: BB shore bombarding Malta? Not working as I think it should

If you drop Malta‘s supply to zero with battleships (and blockade the 2 ports) the combat readiness of the AA gun drops significantly and it is a lot easier to take out. Also it can only partially be repaired which makes it even easier ti finish. Battleships only will never do the trick tho The All...

Convoys do not stop

Hi there, as I understand cutting off Murmansk and Archangel from the capital will stop the convoys. It is not enough to just grab one hex of the rail, you need to capture a town or bring it below 5. I usually do this by Stratbombing the towns north of Moscow / Gorky. I never focussed on this but al...

Re: Supply, HQ's etc

The 8 and 9 are the naval supply values of the Suez canal. Ground supply there is 4.
Best ground support Allies can get down there is 8. With a HQ on a ressource of 5 or via HQ Chain

Re: Newbie heavy bomber question

baa... Have a hard time believing you could not do the same thing with Medium Bombers and/or Rockets. You can not kill enemy supply with Tacs or Mediums if a unit is present. Also their range is a lot lower and they become increasingly expensive to use once Soviets get lvl2 AA upgrades on their uni...

Re: Newbie heavy bomber question

Heavy Bombers are kick ass for the Axis. Once you are deeper into Russia there are several cities that can cripple the defense when bombed below 5. For example, the town north on Moscow, where the all railroads from Leningrad, Murmansk and Archangel pass through. Bring that one to below 5 and there ...

Re: undocumented tile effects?

One thing I experienced and later gathered from a forums post by Bill or Hubert is, that attacking from a swamp / marsh hex halves the attack values. This is why tanks never get things done around Leningrad. Combined with the (documented) -1 defence against air and artillery attacks that makes swamp...

Re: Can someone explain to me better how HQ linking actually works?

HQ distribution supply: • HQ supply = 0 will have a distribution supply value of 3 • HQ supply 1 or 2 will have a distribution supply value of 5. • HQ supply 3 or 4 will have a distribution supply value of 6 • HQ supply 5 will have a distribution supply value of 8. • HQ supply > 5 will have a distr...

Re: Can someone explain to me better how HQ linking actually works?

What really is not well documented is that HQs have 2 different kinds of boosts. A single HQ will need the natural supply of 5 (your typical russian town) to get a boost to 8. So boost 5 = 8 Less than 5 = not an 8 What is very counterintuitive is, that an HQ that is out in the wilderness but does re...

Re: Gamey Moves

US S&I research speed up does not get cancelled out by Axis S&I until US is in the war.
Breakthroughs in US S&I and or tank tech make lvl4 US tanks possible in early 1943 at least in WiE.
Teching US S&I before they enter the war is super powerful ....and kinda gamey.

Re: Gamey Moves

You can have 3 Paras no? Them forcemarching and then preparing is super unrealistic and therefore gamey. Alhtough I use it a lot in WiE. I would not mind a nerf on this. Level 3 AA is off the chart. Someone (I think El Condoro) said, that for rounding reasons the attack values vs aircraft raise from...

Re: Marianas Scenario MP Match AAR [Japan]

wow these landings are a disaster Dunno how experienced you are in Strategic Command in general Simicro. But naval landings are a dicey endeavour. Coming from AVL's your HQs will start with a 10 supply that diminishes turn by turn. It is absolutely vital to keep the HQs screened or else you will end...
