RE: Bitter Glory

Small correction, in Finland you should have Helsinki instead of "Helsingsfors" (Helsingfors, note spelling, is the Swedish name).

RE: Question on "Replans"

<t> What is the current capability of the AI player? Does it detach and reattach and if it does then when does it choose to reattach? As humans we would be able to make use of the two reattach options but what about the AI?<br/> <br/> When the game and the AI get more and more complex, indeed it's m...

RE: Question on "Replans"

<t> I think generally, trying to replicate the real-life in detail leads to numerous preferences and options, that must be included in the planning process. Having too many options may confuse or intimidate the player. It does certainly intimidate me, so I don't usually use all those details with ag...

<t> I would definitely like to see more but as it takes a lot of time away from other development maybe the other things are more important right now. However, maybe you could do some more later together with an expansion pack. Include some history of the scenarios in the videos, that would be just ...

RE: What resolution are you all playing at?

<t> I have a 24" monitor and I run at its native 1920x1080 resolution. It's 16:9 aspect ratio which works well for console games and such too. I'm glad that it's supported in BFTB as it's not the most common 16:10 widescreen. On the 24" screen I find the resolution readable but on my laptop with 15"...

RE: Future Directions - Features

<t> One small feature that came into my mind while watching and playing the tutorial is this. Coordinating the units would be much easier if you showed the times at the various waypoints for the selected unit(s). Say I click a commanding unit, I see what the commander has planned for the route, but ...

<t> If you are looking for a topic for your next update, then how about something about the combat model?<br/> <br/> It's interesting to read that units are made of platoon-sized elements of various types. But how do you calculate the results of combat with such and who will be casualties? How does ...

RE: Tutorials

<t> I just finished the tutorials. They were great stuff. Though I've played RDOA and HTTR, with the expanded possibilities of BFTB, I didn't feel like any minute of time was wasted and the videos set the mood very well. I would definitely love to see some video AARs with bits of the history thrown ...

Hi Dave,

It would be very interesting to hear what kind of optimizations you have done for your route calculations. I do programming for a living so that's why I ask [8D]

RE: spherical maps

<t> Hi and thanks for the comments.<br/> <br/> The scale is roughly around 400-600 km per triangle edge. I think in the current model there are 1280 triangles. What I do is I take an icosahedron and subdivide each triangle into four smaller triangles and repeat that three-four times. That decides th...
