If this is happening in the Long (WWII) Campaign, you may want to check out a thread by caribcat called "SPWAW 7.0 save game problem" from a few days ago. I was having the same problem, but gmenfan sent me a patch that fixed it.

<t>I've had the same problem, every time I try to load a saved game in the Long Campaign. The only thing I can do is save the game at the end of every turn prior to pressing the End Turn button, and after completing deployment for the next scenario. The game seems to load for me when saved during a ...

<t>Right. You don't know what mission type or map you will have when you select your core. You have to wait until you get to the support screen to see the mission and the map you will be on for your first battle. <t>I think the map shown in the core force selection screen is different from the map in the support force screen. The map shown in the core screen is not the one used for the first battle, the map from the support forces screen is the correct one. I disregard the first one and base my selections on ...

<t>Of course the airborne divisions were elite, as in every army. But among the infantry divisions, I would say the 1st Inf and the 9th Inf. The airborne divs and the "Big Red One" got a lot of press coverage, but the 3rd and the 9th were also excellent units. The 28th, 29th, and 30th were all very ...

<t>Some books that may help are "World War II Order of Battle" by Shelby Stanton, "The GI Offensive in Europe" by Peter Mansoor, and "Eisenhower's Lieutenants" by Russell F Weigley. To paraphrase from these books, by the end of 1941 the Army had 36 divisions, and estimated at least 200-215 would be ...
