RE: OT "The Pacific": Your Reviews

I'm trying to figure out why Iceland was colored red on the big map early in the show. It looked like red was used to show Axis occupied territory elsewhere.

RE: To Italy Next!

Where did you see this information? It's great news for me, Avalon Hill's Anzio game was one of my all time favorites. I've been waiting for a computer game covering the Italian campaign for years.

So far this has happened with every surface combat. This is occurring in a freshly started scenario too not from a previous save and I'm playing solo against the AI.

Graphics glitch.

<t>When I have combat animation on I get a moving transparant image of the main menu during surface combat. The image jumps aroung the screen as the combat progresses. This never happened with any of the previous versions and my computer hasn't changed during this time.<br/> <br/> System<br/> Dell L...

I can play again!!

Thanks for the great work. Haven't played since Sept waiting for this patch. The invulnerable ships in port and useless long range bomb load out for the Vals kept me from starting another campaign. Just in time for the long winter nights up here.

I'd be interested if anything was set up in Mass. or RI. Does anyone know of any good boardgaming clubs in Eastern MA other than the MIT gaming society?

Vals

I hope Vals will be getting the 250kg bomb for their extended range attacks in 1.50.

I found out about Matrix through the Computer Gaming World magazine, I'm sure it was while I was looking for Steel Panthers info.

Thanks for the quick response, I hope a new patch or mini patch can be done soon. I just can't enjoy playing the IJN when my prime strategy is to maintain maximum distance from US CV's when launching strikes.

Val's need to be fixed.

<t>I've been all over the web and through books and nowhere can I find mention of Vals carrying less than the 250kg bomb. The only variations I can find are on the size or presence of the underwing bombs, either 60kg, 30kg or none. The Val extended range armament in this game (60kg) is next to usele...

Too big for me

<t>Count me as another who thinks that WitP will be too overwhelming and long to enjoy. Between work and family commitments I'm lucky if I can send more than 1 email turn a day for any game, I can't see spending 2+ years on one campaign. It reminds me of the monster boardgames I'd set up then put aw...

Thanks, I'm sure it's one of those factors that's stopping them. I just find it odd that it's always the TK task forces that stop and never the AP/AK ones.

Why won't my tankers move?

<t>This keeps happening to me:<br/> <br/> I form 2 TF's, one with only AP's the other just TK's. Both are set to routine convoys, patrol/no retire and same destination, from Truk to the Shortland Islands. The AP's go on their merry way but the tankers move 3 hexes and stop for good. If I set them to...

Minelaying problem

<t>Using v1.11 I'm trying to lay mines defensively at Lunga with DM's. Every minelaying task force I send from Noumea with 'retirement allowed' orders stops at hex 43,48 and stays there. There are no enemy surface tf sightings anywhere near Lunga. The only way to get them to move on is to set 'patro...

CV Akagi strafed message

Since patching I'm constantly getting CV Akagi strafed messages from air attacks on Gili Gili. Switched sides to see what the heck is there and the Akagi is (and has always been) in Japan. There are no IJN ships in or near Gili Gili and only attacks on Gili Gili result in this message.
