Let's Learn AGEOD Civil War 2 Video Series

<r> I've started what I thought was going to be a Let's Play of CW2 but it turned out to be more of a tutorial. There's a bit of stuff at the beginning explaining my philosophy of how I was going to approach the Let's Play that might get a little tedious. If I had realized I was going to end up ...

RE: Graphic mod - Unit icons

<t> I agree. I'll reduce the size of the leader Icon by 25%. <br/>
<br/>
The container symbols are from the flag file. I'm working on figuring out how the flags work so I can make a 'flag' that looks like a Nato symbol. That should do the job. <br/>
<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
...oh yeah. This will work ...

RE: Needed: Scenarios with Generals placed

<t> Paul,<br/>
You cannot start a general in a container unit, but you can set the province where the generals start by editing Commanders.txt. It's a tab-separated text file. It's best to use Excel or Open Office but you can do it with notepad, it just won't be lined up all nice for you. Use the ...

RE: Graphics mod - Advisors

<t> I've been using it since the game came out.&nbsp; I had to get rid of those cartoon guys within an hour of playing the game. <br/>
<br/>
It has no effect on performance either way, just replaces one picture with another.<br/>

If you don't like it, simply copy the originals back.&nbsp ...

They replace the cartoon guys (bleh!) that pop up at the end of the turn summarizing the production info, etc.&nbsp; You also see them when you try to examine enemy units while fog of war is selected. &nbsp;

RE: replacement pilots?

<t> To save everybody else from doing a search, I'll recap the 'Mogami Method' as I understand it. <br/>
Frontline air units are never set to 'accept replacements'. A significant portion of air units are designated by the player to be training units and are kept back out of combat and assigned ...

I love this scenario. Thanks Pry!!

Only one minor quibble. I assume it wasn't possible to include the losses for December 7th in the score and sunk ships/planes losses data. Too bad.

RE: Wish for a new scenario Non Historic start but with limits.

<t> What I've been thinking to slow down the pace in general is some rule restricting the size of an invasion based on prep points. The larger the invasion, the more prep is needed. For example, a small operation could go at 0% prep, multi-division ops require 100% prep. Those in between are, well ...

Note : The link to map 12, Centrifugal Offensive, Southwest Pacific has a typo and points to map 10. if you cut and paste the link and change the last bit to worldwarii_asia_maps_map12.htm, you can get that one.

<t>I've managed to fairly reliably recreate this. Whenever bombers on Rabaul are assigned a bombing mission other than naval attack, but leaving the target blank, they will often head on up to 0,0. Apparrently, 0,0 is where units not in the game yet live, so there's lots of flak there. After a ...
