You could duplicate this with a hotseat 4 player game:

MacArthur
Nimitz
IJN
IJA

Maybe have some victory conditions that allow only one to win? Or pick two winners: One from the Japanese and one from the allied side <G>

"Optomistic" AI?

<t>I am not sure quite how to express this (but I am sure I will get lots of help from others <G>) so bear with me a bit.<br/> <br/> In thinking about what people have been saying about Aircraft losses, bombers etc. I think it it pretty accurate that if a (loose, unorganized as was their wont) group...

Some results under 2.11

<t>I started a new game "Hard Road Ahead" under 2.11. I set FOW off. I did play as the IJN if that makes any difference. I sent all the bombers at Rabual against Port Moresby for 5 consecutive turns which resulted (due to weather) in actual attacks against PM 3 times.<br/> <br/> The bombers were set...

<t>I think more control over ships on Naval Attack would make not only a better (more enjoyable/less frustrating) game but a more realistic game, but i would suggest doing it in the opposite way to what I think others are suggestiong, and I am not sure how to implement it.<br/> <br/> I would suggest...

Possible Solution to True Update Problem

<t>I am not sure if this is the cause of the problem (there may be more than one) but are the people having trouble running WinXP?<br/> <br/> Many people with WinXP, including me, have an Administrator User and an "Ordinary" User, and usually are logged on as the "Ordinary" user with reduced privile...

<t>YIPPEE the IJN and USN are both now launching torpedoes!<br/> <br/> As a first quick look at v 2.10 here are results from a game I had saved under v2.00. This is the game under which the IJN only fired torpedoes once in 9 re-runs of the same game under 2.00. <br/> <br/> Under the first re-run wit...

<t>Well, it is not a case of USN experience going up quickly because my experience (above) was the first combat for either side on Aug 8 1942 in the Hard Road game.<br/> <br/> And you may say that the IJN Torpedoes are used more often or are more accurate than the USN torpedoes, but again, in runnin...

<t>I am having a similar experience under v 2.00 (game restarted). This is the Hard Road Ahead Scenario early on (about 8/8).<br/> <br/> What I noticed (I ran the turn over and over from the saved game) and what I note on the results listed here is that the IJN are not getting torpedo hits. <br/> <b...

Suggestion for Map

I understand why you are using the projection you are using, but it is a little confusing.

I would suggest marking the Equator at least and perhaps some lines of Latitude and Longtude (?Every 20 degrees?) to give a better feel for just which direction Samoa lies from Tarawa etc.

I really really LIKE the new background. I can read the text much more easily.

(FWIW I generally view the screen in a normally lit room, not a darkened room).
