RE: Airplane problems

<r> I first saw it in <B><s></s>Romistrov Red Dawn<e></e></B> where the Germans get planes from turn 2 but the game crashes when the Soviets get theirs on turn 4 - more precisely when the AI Soviet takes their turn and it's the plane they intend to activate (ie Soviet ground activations work ...

Map projection

<r> Obviously too late for this iteration but has any thought been given to using a different map projection for future games?<br/> <br/> For a truly global game Mercator (where the world is projected onto a rectangle) isn't the best option because of the distortion you get between high latitudes an...

Scale in different campaigns

<t> It's cool how the game scales - is there a summary somewhere of what each unit represents in each campaign?<br/> <br/> I want to know the scale so that I can give my core units custom names - eg in the USMC campaign should I be naming them as platoons or companies (assuming they aren't big enoug...

RE: Be able to play all the original Lnl boardgames in this game

<t> Another big thanks for reinvigorating this game!!!<br/> <br/> Purely on a whim I was reinstalling the original Lock 'n Load on a new pc and happened to come back to these forums and saw this thread - I had to keep reading it to make sure it was true!!<br/> <br/> I've got Heroes of the Pacific an...

Field of glory ancients with this engine?

<t> This game is what I wanted Field of Glory (which is still a good game) to be.<br/> <br/> The unit graphics in particular give the mass effect that makes it look like a significant battle is taking place - every FoG game feels a bit like a skirmish because of the big sprites.<br/> <br/> Are there...

Tank reinforcement not appearing on the map?

In the "Just another village" scenario, the tank that the cut scenes relate to seems to be in a hex well off the map (on the wooden table) - the first time I played the scenario he appeared on the road, but in the last couple of times he has been inaccessible.

RE: Pathing tweak idea

I like the way it works in Field of glory - as you move the mouse over the hexes it plots and displays the route which is then confirmed when you click on the final destination hex

Stand alone or expansion?

<t> Do you think that you would add content/rules to the base game in a DLC type of way or release the new game as a stand alone product?<br/> <br/> A lot of people are probably hoping that eventually they'll have a LnL sandbox where they can create any scenario from the board game versions - rather...

Too many heroes

<t> While I like the idea of heroes and their skill cards, there just seem to be too many of them generated. <br/> <br/> In the 3rd scenario of the German campaign, the human wave attacks from the wheat fields seemed to throw up a hero as quickly as I shot one down, and the only thing that kept me i...

RE: Could this be the next PC game?

<t> go for it!!<br/> <br/> the Pacific theatre is the poor cousin for tactical WW2 games, but has two big things going for it from a gameplay perspective - fewer vehicles (vehicles are always a bit tricky to represent in turn based tactical games) and one side (the Japanese) pretty much in static de...

With the $10 Easter gift voucher from Matrix this ended up being a no-brainer - just finished playing through the tutorials, hope my die rolls are a lot better in the real scenarios!!

So what can't be modded?

<t> it really seems like almost anything is possible and seeing the game expand beyond WW2 really reinforces this<br/> <br/> I own Band of Heroes and Not One Step Back, is there anything, particularly in the rules or AI engines, that would prevent someone with the time porting the scenarios from the...

<t> while the devil is in the detail, the one critical success factor for me is the linked campaign<br/> <br/> I've played other tactical games where the battles are great, but ultimately the one-off nature of them detracts from the overall experience as wins and losses count for nothing when you mo...
