Well,

Favorite Game of all time:
Steel Panthers World at War.This is a definite classic, offering unlimited replayability and Fantastic gameplay.Other than JTCS, I can't find any game that can even compare to this game.SP:WaW will always have a special place especially it was the first Computer Wargame I ever played, and what got me into wargaming in the first place.

Favorite game at the Moment:
John Tiller's Campaign Series.Closest thing to SP:WaW.Unlimited Replayability and you gotta love John Tiller feel and interface.Because it's platoon level and a better interface than SPWAW(In my opinion) it makes battles(particularly larger ones) much more enjoyable and easier to play.

Leisure Suit Larry by Sierra. Back in about 1988 this was the first computer game I had played and I had a blast! That's not my most fun game though. It is the most memorable. [:D]

I don't have a favorite game. Not one has made it there yet, still looking. [8|]

I'll also choose SPWAW, for its variety of scenarios/theaters in the panorama of WWII. I hadn't played it in awhile, but started a generated battle today. The drama and the challenge is as strong as ever. No other tactical game even comes close, as it has this clever mix of turn-based movement combined with opportunity fire, which provides the illusion of real-time combat without degenerating into a click-fest.

For me the best game ever has to be Elite.

David Braben and Ian Bell redefined what a computer game could be, and even to this day I’m not sure that what they achieved, with their non-linear game play, has been bettered.

I know this is a stratergy/wargame forum, but even so, Elite deserves a mention.

TDO

The mission planning screen is still the best I have ever seen even by today's standards.

X-Com: Enemy Unknown (UFO Defense in the states). The most atmospheric and addictive game I've ever played.

Seconded. Although Star Control 2 is a close second. I still occasionally play these two, although they´re from 1993 or so.

Strat: Close Combat2:ABTF or Combat Mission BB/Afrika..those are tied, prob give the edge to CC for the Campaign which is still one of the best for Beer-N-Prez wargame.

RPG Baldur's Gate I&II w/ add ons..play and replay and never beat/explored the whole series, just started this year to read the walk-throughs for thing/quest I missed.

Both I still play often over a decade on, more than all my other still working PC games.

As to:
Pz Cmnder: Kharkov, played less than weekend, got bored and just un-interested and PO'd at the price I spent
CC:TLD played maybe since I bought it day of release for less than 24hrs total before I shelved it(I played SH4 more and I hate the Pacific War)

Well, one man's meat is another man's poison, as they say. Just goes to show isn't wise to declare a game 'cr*p' or similar when what you really mean is that you just don't like it. Gaming's like that; I've bought plenty of both '90%' titles I've barely played and '60%' titles that have obsessed me for weeks. You don't know until you play them, even demos don't help much.

BTW, on the topic of favourite games I'm playing an excellent beta at the moment for something called 'Shattered Horizon', which is basically an online space shooter in zero gravity with (sort-of) real physics. I have a suspicion it might well end up as 2009's "best game nobody played" (an online only release won't help), but it's the best shooter I've played in ages. Well worth checking out when its released.
