Ultimatum 1979 Yaquinto boardgame
Does anyone have this game?
I would like to know if you are allowed to moved and attack with stacked bombers/ combining their attack values.. for instance a Soviet tu-20 has attack value of 30, new york defence value is 39, so as you can see 1 bomber can never take out the city on its own...
A problem this brings up is if you bomb with a stack and subtract your attack points, if you try to split up the bomber stack what bomber would take the survivablity penalty. Can anyone help me out ?

Yaquinto made a game called 'Flattop' about the WitP, also they made the original 'Airforce' and 'Dauntless' titles later absorbed by AH. They also made some ground based stuff, not sure which one of these games he's referring to.
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

Yes. This is it!!,
I actually figured out that you can stack bombers you just need to roll individually for each bomber then add up the payload and allow each bomber to take fire, that way you don't just try to absorb all the AA fire with 1 bomber and use a bunch of full strength bombers to lay waste to the rest of the cities, I thought this was a "gamey" tactic, turns out we were playing the game wrong. Thanks for the website if i have anymore problems i will create and account and ask on that board.

Never heard of those, they had a nice series of WW2 games, "88" and "Panzer" i think a couple other eastern front games.. "88" was a north africa game. Ultimatum is a fun game has a few different scenarios, Cuban Missile, Vietnam, and a few other "futuristic" scenarios.. Basically a 1 turn game First Strike and then the other retaliates, different launch sequences and sub phases. Or you can play the 20 turn game where you purchase your own stuff... Don't know enough about the cuban missile crisis to tell you if this is an accurate model but they sure did put a lot of work into the game, It seems like the US has a significant bomber advantage but the Soviet Population is more spread out, doesn't take a whole lot of bombers to level the eastern seaboard. Nice game if you ever see it for a cheap price its worth picking up..

I have Flattop. Well.. I know I have the box - bought it 25 years ago or more. I have not opened it in years and it was at my brother's house for about 15 years, so no telling what it looks like if I opened the box and looked inside.
Edit: Whoops. I just looked it up and mine was the Battleline edition not the other one. It had the Sunburst emblem on the front.

Air Force & Dauntless were originally Battleline games. I think the others as well. Yaquinto did do a lot of games though. I still have some including Marine 2002 (which details the historical Soviet vs U.S. combat on the moon *grin*).
"Lose" is the opposite of "win." "Loose" is the opposite of "tight."

The Yaquinto tactical land game was good but over shadowed by squad leader at the time.

I still have that somewhere. Disturbing as it sounds, we made a drinking game out of it in college.
RE: Ultimatum 1979 Yaquinto boardgame
I can see Nuclear War being a good drinking game, fun and quick and easy to play. Don't get me wrong you can drink and play Ultimatum also, but there is quite a bit of record keeping and math involved.. not exactly a "party" game for the non-wargamer that is..

That game Battle For Normandy looks pretty good. On a company level or so. Looks pretty cool.

I've got a copy of Ultimatum if anyone is interested in buying it.
Just dug it out of the closet and and it's unpunched and in perfect condition.
I'd like to see it in the hands of someone who can appreciate it. I'm too old to ever expect to actually play it. [;)]

If anyone buys it, i would like to hear their take on certain situations that not covered in the manual.. my copy is all beat up, but its complete.. if I had a nice copy like that most likely i would just make my own counters so i could keep it in mint condition (not that this game is worth more than maybe 20-30 bucks lol) just go ahead and punch it and play it
