A fine guitarist. Here he is playing the solo for While My Guitar Gently Weeps at the tribute to George Harrison.

Indeed! That was a flashy (visions of Jimi & James Brown) ending solo! [:)]

Prince was actually a realy good guitar player but was involved in so much more. I always believed that Hendrix would have exceeded this level in the music business if he was able to live past the chaos of the 1960's. Prince was talented but another one who left to soon. Bummer , all the ones I grew up with are e slowly leaving

Hendrix, Dio, Allman, Jon Lord, Bowie, Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding, Roy Buchanan, Lennon, Bonham and many more that I can't remember. Th a 5's the one thing that stinks about getting old

Surely he is now the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince?

Just watched the clip and left with a deep sad feeling. A great song and you could really see him enjoying what he did best. He will be missed. Another great artist has passed away.

I certainly will miss his work more than someone else I know that died a few years ago. Prince had charishma and a likeable personality. I never felt he felt he was bigger than the world. Good songs too, like when doves cry. Back in the disco days I musta romanced a ton of ladies with that song. Yes some of them weighed 1/2 a ton [:D]

He was a rarity in today; an artist true to his craft, not caving to the corporate routine for artists.

Not my top-favourite artist, but he was indeed an extremely gifted musician and composer and a blender of musical styles.

Having been a teenager during the eighties, he surely was present in many moments of my life back then. I confess that sometimes I was also "interested" in checking the female members of his bands in the video clips aired on MTV (he always had a great taste for sure [:)]), but was already aware that compared to other "pop" artists of that era, he was on a league of his own.

RIP Prince. [&o]

There have been many great live guitar solosits. But none could capture a moment better than Prince. He was always epic.
